  1. Sam thats where I ran into trouble was getting the engine fitting under floor . Jim b suggested a frame that drops down in front to allow radiator to sit low enough. I had a gw 6 - 71 under the cab but the wrong frame ( w/ f ) really fought me You'll have much more success, and its gonna be a great looking truck I'm planning a Dodge cab soon
  2. This weekend I decided the rest of the truck needed some attention, work started on the blower engine compartment. Theres a large rear facing radiator so out came the dremel to remove the panel. I cleaned up opening then framed in w angle . Later ill fill it w a expanded metal screen . I still plan to blank off the back to avoid see thru Doors, drip rails were added along w meng detail bolts . Then some scrap Pe handles were attached I rebuilt the frame for the boxes after a photo showed its c channel not I beam , so a quick rebuild i added the welded braces w more meng bolts. Next up will be the frame bracing for expanded metal walkway, and rear bulkhead . Another necessary mockup was in order . Everyone suggested the truck should have tire chains so I added that to list ....squirrels lol

  14. Great to have ya along Scott and Casey ! Both builds sound fantastic. Hopefully that spread axle flat bed makes it to retailers soon its very desirable Casey glad ya could rejoin us ! Really fun choices with the IH family . My step dad drove a 9300, w tri axle Mac dump im supposed to build if the squirrels ever leave me alone awhile!
  15. Nice build right there !!! These trucks are so nice to look at One thing I've done before that helps the look , take a thin strip of plastic and attach it under the cab door like a filler panel. It hides the see through effect .
  16. Thanks ! It's starting to be difficult to work around now all the bracing is going on before paint .. The rear springs have a radius rod type bar id assume is to keep axle centered . I got them from Dave Natale specific for this build . The trucks typically had a Cat bulldozer engine to power the blower unit , D 348 possibly. Theres a large rear mounted radiator also. Thanks , its definitely starting to look like a snowblower now instead of a huge pile of random parts.. Tonite I had a few spare minutes so I cleaned up the augers . Our 4 yr old said " it doesn't have teeth like Bumble ..did Hermie take his teeth out too ? She watches Rudolf too much . Well now it has the teeth ! I may add some meng bolts later
