  7. Sorry to hear about your loss sir , don't feel rushed in any way. If we need a year to get everyone finished I totally would extend deadline to dec thats not a problem Couple builders here are almost done now lol
  8. Cant go wrong w a Detroit!!! Hopefully you'll have clearance enough if ya choose the 8v
  9. Correct the brbo runs 6 months
  10. Sam we extended the 20 brbo for 6 months due to the covid lockdown allowing folks a fair chance at finishing. I wasn't sure what previous years had done
  11. Nice and greasy engine ! Well used Would the turbo have a rusty finish from the heat generated ?
  12. Your definitely able to join us , there's really no rules per say . Start a separate post w brbo 21 in title and build away . Theres no requirement for monthly updates this time, deadline is June 30th . Once your builds complete, post a few photos under glass . Thats about it welcome to the brbo 21

  14. Man that looks sinister !!! Perfect stance and those black wheels w gleaming rotors..nailed it
  15. Nice plumbing job !! Glad we got ya back into building
  16. Hahhaha yeah sometimes my ocd kicks in and ill try adding everything. Years of building armor was root cause , some call it rivet counting My squirrels..whoa they are well fed around here , luckily I'm staying the course w this Cant believe they made it , almost blew it there in the end . I'm actually a Saints fan so today is our game ..who knows how fate will play out
  17. Playoffs were on..so I headed to the bench for more build time ! Built up a set of walkway hangers based off photos I took a few days ago. I'd wished now I'd taken a quick measurement but eye balling this one . Couple triangle braces , u channel in center w angle extensions ..typical Oshkosh fabrication built heavy Kept looking at photos , and wanted to try building a rain cap on the blower engine exhaust stack.. Thats it for today, thanks for following!
  18. Cab is painted w tamiya mica red , primer should be their fine white . Dunno whether i cleared it , it would've been testors wet look if so
  19. Lol these older trucks just look awesome to me , probably why I prefer to build the older steel working trucks ! Eventually I'll drop an autocar cab on a scratchbuilt refuse truck ive wanted to build
  20. Gorgeous build
  21. Wow the voting is CLOSE !!!! Really excited to see the outcome when poll closes next Friday
  22. This is gonna be awesome theres so many choices to personalize it ! The small dump box definitely looks good on it
  23. Sam thats where I ran into trouble was getting the engine fitting under floor . Jim b suggested a frame that drops down in front to allow radiator to sit low enough. I had a gw 6 - 71 under the cab but the wrong frame ( w/ f ) really fought me You'll have much more success, and its gonna be a great looking truck I'm planning a Dodge cab soon
  24. This weekend I decided the rest of the truck needed some attention, work started on the blower engine compartment. Theres a large rear facing radiator so out came the dremel to remove the panel. I cleaned up opening then framed in w angle . Later ill fill it w a expanded metal screen . I still plan to blank off the back to avoid see thru Doors, drip rails were added along w meng detail bolts . Then some scrap Pe handles were attached I rebuilt the frame for the boxes after a photo showed its c channel not I beam , so a quick rebuild i added the welded braces w more meng bolts. Next up will be the frame bracing for expanded metal walkway, and rear bulkhead . Another necessary mockup was in order . Everyone suggested the truck should have tire chains so I added that to list ....squirrels lol
