RM Mack w snowblower....
gotnitro? replied to gotnitro?'s topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Today I wanted to focus on the discharge chutes. Their an enormous focal point on the snowblower w linkages and brackets going every direction. The chute " leaves " as their actually called have ribs ( not the KC yummy kind) and welded stiffening plates all around. I first double walled all the outer shell to strengthen it up, I originally made it scale thickness but had to fatten it up to avoid damage . Then working front to back adding plates and thin ribs . I spotted a glitch during construction w angle of the long channel, I mounted it too flat. The brace points about 45 degrees when leaves are stored. Trimming the section away and adjusting the angle had everything lining up. That putty mess was needed when the glue melted dips in plastic from my new clamps..oops One last part the squirrels made for me was the bank cutter flap support bar . This rod attaches to a small ram adjusting the angle of the cutters while clearing snow . Thanks for following Have a safe and happy New Years day -

you cant just hand over 100 K for a 700+ HP truck ??? I was blown away when they announced the first run was sold out ! I had to walk out for a peek at my 2020s Bighorns lights, they would be challenging, but you'll nail them ! somehow even w my poverty level truck I scored the awesome LED upgraded lights -

RM Mack w snowblower....

Tossed a few braces and Meng bolts on for detailing. After looking at bare plastic for weeks this felt really good! One major part i wanted to knock out was the drive motor / cylinder that rotates the drum . A few pieces of rod, and square tube made up the assembly. The gear was found lurking in a spares bin Back to work tomo to pay for my snow tires... Thanks for following -

Big mock up day ! Assembled the chute tower mount and had to see how it looked together I almost had a panic attack when it dawned on me the impeller drum wasn't gonna fit..but it dropped right in..whew !!! now for the chute drive motor and bank cutter parts ..the end is closer !!! -

plenty of widgets..half the fun of building from photos is trying to figure out how parts get fabricated !! Theres a bunch of fun parts coming soon..just tackling the chutes now. Thanks ! Thanks ! theres still a ton of parts to make yet ..but its how ya eat an elephant one bite at a time ! Thanks ! funny how those kept me awake, then it clicked ..I think the major assemblies are close, now to add life t each making a small model from all of them. looking at certain parts now look boringly simplied, but once the bolts, widgets, and thing a ma jigs go on..it should pop
