  1. Very nice! Love these tandem steering trucks
  2. Lol thanks ! Didn't really want the squirrels help anyway I keep stepping on the shells Santa has his hands full w our daughters request anyway..she would like a dinosaur..and not that talking purple one Haha ! I'm actually surprised they didn't send it out to help . Road crews south of me were getting their plows buried after snowfall levels topped 40 inches ..unheard of in this area . Thanks ! I hopefully will have a few days off after holidays to work on it steady
  3. Looks awesome Dan ! Using the window tint should work fine , I've done it in the past and it turned out good Like the choice of white too, seems to show the body lines on the p wagon
  4. So far the squirrels have assembled quite a few parts ..but still a ways to finish up. Last night I started the impeller drive motor , after mocking up the mounting plate . Here's all the parts the furry buggers stashed around the bench..The discharge chutes still need clean up The blower lift assembly parts made from several different bits then sanded into shape Lastly the motor mounting plate ready to accept the drive motor once its fabricated. Heres the real one for an idea of whats ahead... I asked Santa for some help..even the squirrels laughed ..guess I'm going solo ! Jeff
  5. Hahaha ! She's very willing to leave space for my favorite trucks , I picked up a display cabinet from a co-worker and its sitting prominent in living room. She just rolls her eyes when I'm chatting about the next build ...knowing the squirrels are back
  6. Sam - Gary doesn't have a website, ya gotta email him for info. gwtrucks@yahoo.com
  7. Ohhhh good luck ! My wife is also a book reader and would kill me for moving them !
  8. Glad to help ya out ! They really make for a fantastic trailer when finished . I always thought about doing another one weathered heavily , but space is a premium lol
  9. Braided line can be painted any color to represent wire and its very flexible and rolls up tight on drums
  10. Anything!!!! Orange is the new black , it works on seemingly every truck available
  11. Soo..I planned a poll thread w photos in the under glass section . Then folks can drop a comment there if they feel like . Hopefully this will keep it organized. Any other suggestions feel free to ask , I'm a rookie at this
  12. I'm gonna arrange a poll thread under glass just like 2019 was done . That way everyone votes and it tallies the overall score . If you'd like to link them all here together pm me for full list , theres currently 14 finished .
  13. Sure am , gotta find out how to set that up still
  14. Here's the only one showing the ends. Hopefully that will help ya
  15. Your frame is really turning out well ! Adding the welds around the tank hoppers looks very good As far as your front / rear supports , that's an area I really struggled with. Theres a bunch of angles that meet there. I also wrapped a square rod around the tank, tipping it then gluing down slowly working around the tank then built the struts that run down to the frame . I can't recall if the chicken came before the egg next. Ill see if I have any other build photos still
  16. I'd be happy to, but would need some help adding them.
  17. More work was done on the hitch frame , started the mounts for the hydraulic cylinder, built up a cylinder to lift the snowblower, and mocked the hitch frame up before installing cross braces This little cylinder took 2 hrs of work ...can't believe how many parts it took And under the truck Now a spider web of wiz bangs doodle bugs and thing a ma jigs . Ive gotta plan a few steps ahead or get myself painted into corner Thanks for following
  18. Thanks everyone for suggestions, I'll have to pull this one back down for a few hrs and putter again. I also should get the binders and shackles ordered from shapeways to load out the deck
  19. @Sam- either project sounds good , definitely hope you'll pick the crackerbox !
  20. Thanks ! I've wanted to build this piece of snow removal equipment for a few yrs . Its challenging but also teaching me valuable skills I decided the simplest way to approach the frame was to follow Mack's design and make mine bow also ! They already engineered it , why not borrow the idea. So using solid .100 x .250 rectangular stock, I slowly bent a bow into it approx behind the bumper. Then bend again to line up w mounts, and repeat!! I'm more than pleased w shape. One area concerned me where I attached the vertical mount to the horizontal rail. The glue joint was strong but decided to fishplate the joint . Here's the progress Fishplates The final frame before adding cross braces ..one side is much shorter , they shift the rail over to avoid the impeller drum. now for the bracing and hydr cylinder goodies
  21. Thanks Gator glad to see ya around hope you've been doing well ! Decided to start laying out the framework that mounts this to the truck chassis. Luck was on my side during last photo op, and showed a large spacer pack shifting frame over around impeller drum . Then it happened...mocking up the tubing that runs under truck showed an issue . The Mack frames bow out in front...where Oshkosh is straight framed . This will cause the frame to be much wider than planned , but only way . I'll shim the belly frame out so everything lines up properly when attached to blower . Theres a vertical strut mounted to bumper welded to hitch frame rail that'll tie it together..
  22. Awesome build and paint ! Are those the "bandit " wheels from Z ? Perfect choice
  23. Better get busy before your new pet bird arrives ! Thanks for taking him off my hands , he was driving our dog crazy. Ps hes hungry
