  1. That's too bad. I bought the Fiat specifically for the Cadillac engine and the chassis part with an eye to doing a Lightning Bug replica, and it's probably cheaper than trying to get all the resin parts separately. It's a great collection of kitbashing parts, and you really are missing out if you don't grab a few of these. All you people grumbling about the lack of a traditional rear in the Revell Model A and Deuce kits? Everything you need is right here in this kit.
  2. I resprayed the whitewalls, and did a mockup to see how it's shaping up.
  3. Good for you. Some people don't have credit cards.
  4. I think I took all of an hour.
  5. It looks like the original might have been based on a London bus.
  6. I feel the same about the ones who refuse to use Paypal, and insist on credit cards, but what can you do?
  7. That textured foil does make an effective thermal blanket. You can also get it on some kinds of fancy chocolate.. Paint thinner will dissolve the glue holding the paper backing on, and it will slide right off.
  8. Oh, I have no use for those people. You don't have to time or desire to build a microscopically detailed masterpiece every time, that is perfectly reasonable, but there is something deeply wrong when someone whines that such gems are bad because their existence somehow makes that person feel sad and inadequate about their own efforts. Some modelers are better than others, and no matter how good you are, there is someone who will blow you out of the water, but it would be a sad and miserable world if we start dragging everyone down to the same level because a few sad people can't handle that.
  9. Nothing at all wrong with being a rivet counter, just so long as you don't insist that everyone else has to be one.
  10. IMC was all about lots of moving parts that didn't quite fit together.
  11. It looks legit. https://tb98nj.wordpress.com/2020/07/23/the-story-of-tucker-1004-nascars-unicorn/
  12. Nice! I think this is the first time I've ever seen the Carioca rendered in three dimensions.
  13. http://www.vanpeltsales.com/FH_web/flathead_drawings_electrical.htm It looks like the crab style distributor was only used for '42
  14. I finally got some paint on the body. Model Master Metallic Stoplight Red over a base coat of Humbrol #55 Bronze
  15. I saw this behemoth this afternoon. It would make an interesting model project for someone.
  16. Did AMT ever release a kit of the Mustang II, or is this a re release of the IMC kit?
  17. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't one of the big problems with the Jo-han dies is that there are no machines that can use them?
  18. Monogram's '59 Cadillac was in fact their first foray into 1/25, and Revell's Caddy is a reissue of the Monogram kit
  19. I'm wondering how much work would be involved in transferring the roof and interior to either the Revel/Monogram '59 Cadillac, or the '59 Chevy
  20. I built the MPC version wayyy back, which is why I want to take another stab at it. From what I remember, the detail put a lot of 1/25 kits to shame.
  21. Some good news for the space fans, though.
  22. Impressive. It would be interesting to see their take on the C8
  23. I was getting some paints at Model Land, and this just begged me to take it home.
