  1. I suppose because I started out on Monogram kits, and because I can use an architect's scale to measure things out, my preference is for 1/24, but in practice, 1/25 is close enough, especially since the deviations from the actual scale tend to blur out any differences between the two.
  2. Atlantis is bringing back the Buick and the Continental, so maybe this isn't such a hopeless exercise after all.
  3. Just as long as you can build it stock, I'm not overly worried about the other knick knacks.
  4. I could get behind the Imperial and the Corvette, even if the shows they're based on have largely been lost to the mists of time.
  5. You're not wrong. The "good old days" had their share of aesthetic failures too.
  6. Gotta love those old Healys. They're almost the perfect embodiment of a '50s sports car. I'm going to be following this one.
  7. I hadn't really. I already have more than enough projects on my plate.
  8. The amoeba kit appeals to me for the "What the heck?" factor.
  9. The top one for me on that list would probably be that Eldorado Brougham, followed by the '56 Caddy and Buick
  10. That's it for now.
  11. Lots of interesting stuff on that list, though the amoeba kit is the one that really caught my attention.
  12. If you're only of those crazy people who likes to build stock, AMT is still the only game in town.
  13. The Cord Boat Tail speedster thread in 1:1 Reference inspired this speedster based on the 1938-39 sharknose Graham, though I did take some liberties with the proportions. The Hollywood name wasn't used until 1940, but I thought it captured the spirit of the design. Executed in Photoshop.
  14. Oh, it definitely could be done better. Personally, I think the Cord is one of those cars they got right the first time, though I think one of these would look pretty spiffy with a boattail.
  15. I forgot about the Matchbox 1/32 cars. They also did a 1930 Packard, and an Auto Union racer, if you're looking for something a little more exotic.
  16. Airfix released a very detailed 1/32 Jaguar saloon and a Mercedes pagoda coupe way back when. Both of them had engines.
  17. Go back a little further, and the horse drawn origins are even more obvious.

  19. I know there's at least one custom Ford out there with a Brewster front end. EDIT: Found it Ollie's Hines 1934 Ford custom.
  20. I've never seen the cartoon, but I'm a big fan Syd Mead's designs. Finished in Humbrol paints.
  21. My model dreams tend to be of me finding this little visited corner of a department store, or this out of the way hobby shop, and it's full of models i'd never knew existed, but have always wanted.
  22. Someone at Doyusha probably went, "Eh, nobody cares about that foreign stuff anyhow..."
  23. The worst movie I ever paid money to see we probably Transylvania 6-5000, and I compounded the offense by convincing someone else that we should go see it.
  24. The roadster chassis looks like it has lots of useful parts both for the street and the strip. The option of a regular or quick change rear is a nice touch.
  25. When you start a new topic, there is an option "Tags". There, you can add keywords that you think are relevant, like the make of the model. These will show up in searches.
