Oh there are all sorts of kits It would be nice to see reissued, including those ones. Of course all the factors working against new kits apply even more so when we venture into large scale territory.
-
Does Round 2 even do new kits anymore? Personally, I think a C8 is a no brainer for Revell, and they have already done the Ford GT. Both cars deserve a large scale version. though a 1/8 scale model of this Corvette is probably out of the question. Maybe a 1/16 Easy-Click version?

This I could get behind. One I'd definitely like to see back on the shelves is the XKSS.

What Kits were molded in RED ?

Monogram's Little T, Mercedes-Benz 540K, and 1/8 Jaguar were all done in that nice, shiny red plastic that Monogram was so good at. -
THe "lincoln" engine in the Double T kit is also pretty horrible.

Come to think of it, didn't Chrysler want some outrageous amount to license its products, or am I thinking of someone else?

I'd forgotten about the Italeri Peterbuilt. So the two companies have done business before. So there you go. Rebox the Italeri '33 Imperial with a set of Pace Car decals, as the "Special Indy Pace Car Edition". Do the same with the '53 Ford convertible, the '79 Corvette, and any other appropriate kits they have in the inventory. Assuming the folks behind Indy don't get too crazy about licensing, of course.

Italeri already has a 1933 Imperial roadster, so they would be the ones to talk to about a pace car kit. AMT has released Heller kits in the past, and MPC has done Airfix, so maybe this is something Round 2 could look into? In any case, the return of the MPC classics would be most welcome.

Upcoming Car Kit News from NNL Motor City
Richard Bartrop replied to tim boyd's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
While we're making wish lists, I would have liked a '32 Ford grille option like on the coupe, but apparently it's not something that can be easily added to the roadster kit. -
I don't think we know enough to make any definitive statement one way or another about whether there's life out there. I think it's a possibility, but there's always a chance the universe will surprise us. However, I used to read a lot of the UFO literature back when I was younger, and I grew increasingly skeptical as all the human fingerprints all over the encounter stories became more and more apparent. The ET's looked all like us, but not quite, like something from The Twilight Zone, and all their equipment was also like ours, but not quite. Older accounts from the '50s had them coming from places like Mars, or Venus and later depictions would look suspicious like something from Star Trek. Also, our own accounts between different cultures suggests that if ET did pay us a visit, there would be absolutely no doubt that it happened. Now if you want to be really pedantic, then the are Unidentified Flying Objects, in the strictest sense there are things we can't identify for any number of reasons. As for alien encounters, that's just our version of seeing elves, or angels.

Saw the new "Midway" movie yesterday

I'm not sure the "good old days" of gussied up Texan standing in for Zeros was all that great either. The problem isn't so much CGI as bad CGI, and it's been one of my beefs that so few bother to make their detailed CG models move like they're real, but if you want to show squadrons of period correct planes, it's pretty much the only game in town. -
Upcoming Car Kit News from NNL Motor City
Richard Bartrop replied to tim boyd's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Definitely looking forward to the roadster. I had an idea for an Indy style roadster build with the coupe wheels when they first came out. This saves me having to buy two kits. And I would be totally down with a transverse spring and quick change option, especially as Revell has done some very nice quick change rears in the past. -
It's one of those designs that, once you've seen it, you won't forget it.

I had the same thing happen to me with a bottle of Alumilite that I'd let sit too long. -
I think it's a great idea. Adding some tags would be even better.

It's pretty obvious. The Duesenberg front hearkens back to the Imperial. The Exner style is nothing if not distinctive. You can also see similarities between the Mercer and the XNR It looks like the Esquire article happened sometime after Chrysler decided Virgil was getting too weird for them. -
From the Jalopy Journal. A neat jalopy from the '30s that you could probably replicate with existing kits. More info here https://www.jalopyjournal.com/?p=43261
