  1. Travis, all the decals on this build are on the stock decal sheet. also, the rack, when you put it together, it doesn't create a perfect 90 degree angle, it kind of 'tilts' and looks wrong....until you put it on the frame, then it looks right. JT, thanks, the tanks were a beotch, the halves fit horrible, and I don't have any alclad yet, so I puttied/smoothed/filed and painted body color. I tried to BMF one of them, but couldn't make it nice, so went with paint and BMF'd the straps.
  2. incredible build, so life like, hard to tell it's not a 1:1
  3. Thanks guys Justin, those are decals. no way I could ever paint those on, lol. I plan on bringing it to the april show, along with my mack logger and whatever else I can get done by then
  4. At long last, she is done........
  5. wow, that is spectacular...............!!!!!!! you really captured the essence on this, well done!
  6. amazing work as usual, outstanding job so far! beautiful........
  7. this is going to be a home run for sure, looking great so far.
  8. looking good JT! what're ya gonna be putting behind this one?
  9. closer.....not much left to do now.
  10. welcome Travis. my advice to you as a recently back to building guy myself, of the kit's you have pictured there, start with the KW snap kit. it's got good details to get you started, and mate it with the flat bed trailer. trailer is a decent kit as far as parts fit, has some detail, and isn't overly complicated. two good kits to get your 'feet wet' as it were. I built those two exact kits to 'get back in the game' and glad I did, enough detail to keep you interested, but not too hard to make you want to give up. welcome back to the addiction
  11. haha, welcome to the dark side i have both of those kit's waiting their turn. can't wait to see this done, should make for a nice combo.
  12. Jim, that's body color and clear.
  13. JT, what happened to the mysterious blue paint I read about sometime ago? saving that for the Volvo fleet?
  14. well, I gave bmf a shot on the tank, me and it didn't jive, lol. I couldn't get it the way I wanted it to look, so I took the bmf off and painted the tank body color and cleared it. once dry, i'll bmf the straps and call it good. other tank got sanded, primed and sanded again, needed more putty, so tomorrow night will be finishing that one off, I hope. first tank looks pretty good I think.
  15. perfect! color/stance/wheels/tires/motor............sweetness!
  16. this is coming along great, looks sweet so far.
  17. this sounds like a cool project, can't wait to see some progress pic's.
  18. looks great I think. deserving of a visible spot on the shelf ! if that smudge isn't too bad, you could lightly wet sand it with some fine paper and then put some future on it to bring the gloss back. I have found since returning to building, future will help hide a multitude of sins, lol.
  19. that came out great, followed the build, terrific job!
  20. thanks guys got the headlights on today, and am currently working on the fuel tanks. the tank seams were horrid, so after some filing and putty, I have one ready to either paint or BMF, can't decide which way to go. still have to putty the other one yet. I think maybe by the weekend this will be done.
  21. I like it! cab looks great!
