  1. Great work, and nice concept. Looks like the 'Vette drivetrain is going to be popular this year. I'm using the setup from the C-5 Compuware Corvette.
  2. I've heard all of this before in the '80's. Our auto industry will adapt to government regulations and give the customer what we want. We have six cylinder and four cylinder turbocharged engines putting out the horsepower that V-8s put out ten years ago. It's evolution guys, that's all.
  3. Fantastic build. I love the hood hinges!
  4. Welcome fellow buck.
  5. Sweet Vette!
  6. Check out the vid halfway down the page. Well done video, and one bad GT. http://www.torqueandtread.com/speed/worlds-fastest-street-car-the-1700hp-ford-badd-gt/
  7. I like the Opal myself. Not a lot of room but it would be a worthwhile endeavor.
  8. Nice topic and good choices!
  9. Great ideas Pat. I may have to steal the half round idea. I don't use hangers anyway.
  10. Thanks guys, I guess I'll need to expand my list! I got the Vic and the pickup already.
  11. Very nice build.
  12. I've been looking for the 1956 Bel Air and all I've found was the Revell Del Ray kit and the Monogram Bel Air Classic Cruiser edition. Like Snake45 indicated, there's a big difference between the two. The Del Ray has a large B-pillar, and the door is shorter. As for the Classic Cruiser, It's a hopped up street rod version so if you don't want their canned look you will have to kit bash both. I'm going resto-mod and basically scrapping the stock suspension etc. anyway so its no biggie for me. I was born in '56 and I'm building a Ford, Chevy, and Chrysler from that year, and believe me the choices are limited!
  13. Scale Models by Chris has a five spoke Torque Thrust resin big littles but you'd have to paint the centers. They have an aluminum finish, not high polish chrome though. I got Centerlines from him and they were pretty good.. You could also buy a set of five spoke chromes and remove the chrome from the centers. I've done that manually and it takes a lot of time and care but it can be done.. I love that look myself.
  14. Nice build Chris. Looks like you put a lot of work into it and it paid off.
  15. Hey Justin, a couple of things to know about this kit. I built it but have to do some cleanup because I ran into issues with installing the windshield. It's not the easiest thing to install, especially once you've painted the body. If I had it to do all over again I'd install some locating pins on it. You might have other ideas but test fit it before painting the body. And those little vent windows, well have fun with those. Also, the engine is too tall once it's installed in the car and causes the hood to stick open a tad. There's a post out there from others who've had the same problem. So if you go with an alternative carb setup keep that in mind. All in all it's a nice kit and the end results can be impressive. Have fun.
  16. Freaky ride! Well done.
  17. Sounds like a nice idea. I've never done a resin build but I have a couple of resin bodies I've been afraid to tackle. Maybe I'll give it a try.
  18. Really radical stuff! Glad I checked out this thread!!

    Sweet!
  20. OMG! Other than the blower sticking out of the hood you almost replicated the 1:1 SS 454 I brought back with me from the Army back in '78! I love it!!
  21. Very impressive! Well done.
  22. One last thing Ray. If you're using Internet Explorer try another browser. It got so goofy for me I abandoned it 2 yrs ago. Try Chrome of Firefox. If you're already using them, all I can do is pray for you! lol Dennis
  23. Ray, I use PB all the time. do you use the "Image" icon to insert your pics?
  24. I use their coupon to buy paint and glue and the occasional kit for parts. Yesterday I needed a can of gloss black in a bad way so I took the 50% of coupon and bought a can. I think it was old though as it kind of sputtered out even though I heated the can and shook it well. Now I've got a some buffing to do. I've also noticed that their bottle paints look like they've been there a while. Hobby Lobby is about a 15 minute drive one way but its worth the trip. I'll still buy my glue and bead wire from Michaels with the coupon though.
