Freekin' NICE!!!! Detail and paint work are right up there with the best. That aluminum air cleaner just puts the cherry on top of that motor.

Nice color Jeremy. I'll have to keep that one in mind. Just keep forgetting the name of the color. (note to self .............Citrus Yellow!!!)

Thanks Johnny. Ace: Thank you as well bud. I'm getting fired up to keep the progress up on this. I built pretty steady at the latter part of last week and over the weekend and before I knew it I had the chassis done. The stance is true to form as all the axles/ spindles are set where they are gonna be. And yeah..........it's skinnies all the way . -
Good to see you back on this one Declan.

Dang Eric!! I haven't commented much on this build as I haven't had much of a chance to get on the forums much as of late but I'm sure glad I stopped in to look at this one. I've gotta ask, are those fuel line retaining nuts at the carburetor from RB Motion or some where else? I haven't seen anything like that at RB motion and those look really good. Also what did you make your drive shaft out of? Looking forward to your reply and you're doing an outstanding job on this piece of art here, Joe- 172 replies

Thanks James and Jim. I think I am gonna go with those skinnies after all. -
Man that is one sharp Challenger you've got yourself there Mike!!! That turned out spectacular after all the troubles you had with it there at the end!!! You pulled that one off nicely bud.

Enjoyed following along on this build and also enjoyed the story Mike. Going over to have a look at the finished product now........................

LOLOLOL!!! Thanks Jeremy. True.......this kit has been known to be horrible build as well as a horrible cartoon example of a Camaro. Ya know, the more I look at this photo..........the more I do wanna put skinnies on the front. Hey.........it's still streetable............right???!! -

Thanks Steve and Jeremy. Steve: It's gotten a little easier with the linkage after 3 times now. The first time was a real treat! lol. I've got the chassis as done as it's gonna get. I spent a lot of time removing seam lines and injector pin marks from the replacement rear leaf springs and axle. I tossed the original rear diff cover in some brake fluid and sanded it to a more realistic scale thickness and Alcladed it and also cleaned up the traction bars and chromed those. I cleaned the replacement front suspension up and outlined the front spring detail with a Molotow chrome pen. The base chassis assy is all original and has only been touched up with paint. I touched up the raised brake line and fuel line details with some Aluminum paint using a detail brush and applied a wash over the original silver painted fuel tank just to bring out some of the details. While I was on the subject of chassis , I thought I'd mock up the suspension one more time. I've changed the original tire layout up since the beginning and have decided to go with this stance with the rear tire juuuuust even with the upper part of the rear wheel opening. So far............I'm likin' this! Here we are mocked up with the spare body:( the more I look at this thing , the more I wanna put some skinnies on it......) -

A few days late to the game here folks. Finding time to be on the forums is proving difficult as of late as there's just been so much going on. I've been working steady on the engine for the last couple of weeks and have managed to get the carburetor on with the fuel lines and fuel filter as well as the ignition system all taken care of. Looking back I wish I would've included the barrel nut for the fuel line to fuel pump connection but it's installed now so there's no going back now. I'll be coming up with a throttle return spring and bracket soon. -

Thanks Jim and sorry for the delay. I'm still "at it" with this thing. I'll post some pics in the morning. -
I do see that in the background. I had my sights on building the 41 Willy's next as of last year in the ongoing stream of Street Demons builds that I've been doing and then I saw your 54 and it inspired me to build mine.................in Street Demons markings nonetheless. That sunroof really adds a lot to this build. Verrrrry nice work Greg.

Will be watching this one Greg! I loved custom vans as a kid and had the Revell Chevrolet "Mean Mudder" van with the motorcycle. I re-acquired that kit last year (for a decent price at that) and am looking forward to building it in the future. You're doing an awesome job prepping this one so far. BTW..................what ever happened to that 54 Chevy Panel Wagon you were working on?

Man the attention to detail you put into your builds pays off in multitudes Jim! Your interior work is always a shining example of it!! BTW......I like the black washed grille as well as it really brings out the most in all the detail. Fine work there my friend. -
Looks good so far Mike. I had the emblem/ mold line issue when using automotive paint on my latest build. After smoothing all the affected areas out I sprayed several coats of primer on and allowed to cure/ dry out for 2-3 days and then shot my base coat on by dispensing it in a paint jar and airbrushing it on in thin coats and building up to avoid the seam/ badge ghosting.
