  1. Hmmm.............I've never tried the fingernail polish either Geoff. Will be watching to find out some tricks of the trade. I love the subject BTW. Never can see enough of these.
  2. Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. That's a good lookin' truck Frank. I like all the details.
  4. Alright......... I brought this thing out of hiding from last year. I'm making a couple of tweaks to it for the Model Mania Show in Houston coming up at the end of April. I'm not one that goes to these shows that's just gotta win something but I'm hoping this ol' gal will at least place at the show because once those Foose F-100's hit the market they are gonna steal all thunder in regards to mid 50's F truck rods. This build is kind of sentimental to me in the fact that I failed to fully complete it as a kid. As a result I found myself wanting to build one for the last 25 years due to my failure to complete it so many years ago and for the fact that I just like how these trucks look. I'm not gonna go home bawling my eyes out if she doesn't win anything but it'd be cool to see a kit as old and terrible as this one was take something home.
  5. Retain that quality throughout the build. This is where the payoff is bud.
  6. Man you're really pulling out a lot all the stops with this build Art. Great tip on the blue anodizing process!! Totally awesome modeling here!!
  7. Thanks Dave and Jim. Thanks Hans. Yeah I had the original intake on there and it actually looked worse! lol . Some of that'll be hidden by the wiring harness. I've got the bolt patterns right on the rocker covers. Spent waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too many years as an auto tech to miss that one. Thanks for all the comments and the constructive comments Hans.
  8. I can certainly agree with what Gene said. I build a lot of older kits and it takes a lot to whip 'em into shape but the results always seem to be worth it. Hang in there and post some pics Eric.
  9. Fantastic shine on that paint. Wow!!
  10. Your attention to detail just blows my freekin' mind Tim. Wow man! Those wheels and tires look great!!!
  11. Scoooooore!!! Way to go with that acquisition Roger!! I'd love to have one of those!!
  12. Verrry nice paint and foil work D.W.!!!
  13. Thanks Jeremy and Carl. I'll be back at this one again tomorrow morning. After letting it dry out over the weekend. I've got a couple of boo-boo's to straighten out with it still but they aint too big of a project.
  14. Engine detail is just gorgeous Tim!! Love it man! Glad to see you back on this one.
  15. Awww cmon Mike! lol. It aint a waste bubba! It's another opportunity for more spare parts.
  16. Man that was just crazy! Looking forward to watching you work your magic here Mike.
  17. Thanks a lot guys. This clear coat outcome made me feel a lot better about this build as pretty much everything was hinging on it.
  18. Now that's a good lookin' paint job there Trent.
  19. Thanks Glenn and Carl. I've always liked these tires but never had the skills to make 'em look any better till lately. I shot the gloss coat on this morning and I really couldn't be happier about the outcome. I used MM "Wet Look" gloss coat and it'll dry like this. You can see the chameleon like effect on the lower parts of the body going from green to blue to purple. Now for the cure out...................
  20. Man that does look good Niko! At least I now know someone who builds at the same speed I do. Great work bud.
  21. Man I like that!! Lotsa work on that thang!!! You really know how to build a showstopper is all I've gotta say.
  22. Jeremy: Sanding sticks did the trick on these and thank you. Jim: Thank you bud.
  23. Mister you've got that right about the better Camaro kits these days. Loyalty prevails on this one though. lol Well folks I got the letters removed from the rear tires and polished up to an acceptable finish on the sidewalls, cleaned up the sidewalls on the front skinnies and sanded the tire tread on all fours. I used a couple of rim backers from my spare 41 Willy's kit and sanded them down so the edges would be flush with the tire sidewalls on the inside of the front wheel/ tire assys. Here's the before and after of that. OOB on the right and thinned down version on the left Here's the set up fellas. Lettering is gone from the rear tires. Ummm.................it looks like I've got some smoothing up to do on those wheel edges. . Good ol macro shots....you just can't beat 'em.
