Thanks Tim and Jim! I did get some sleep last night. I already feel better! Not a whole lot of progress this morning. I got the windshield moldings and the R/H side drip rail moldings applied. We're gettin' there................ -

That fan is fantastic JC. Aww come on with the detail..........you can always add hoses and clamps and a dipstick. lol -
That engine is tops Tim! How'd you get the stand alone engine pics with no background?

Hydraulic hoses to the cylinders? That's a great idea! You're doing this build all kinds of justice and that would make a great addition!! P.S. This build is soooo cool to watch!!! Keep the pics and updates coming Dan! -

Tom: LOL !!! Got a couple this morning here. Dan: I polished it out a little bit to smooth out some of the irregularities but for the most part I'm not going to push my luck! lol Tim: I had to take a break from the forums yesterday for the most part. Just didn't get enough rest over the weekend and my body was letting me know about it. I dozed right through a red light yesterday and decided that maybe yesterday evening/last night wasn't going to be spent on the forums but resting instead. I feel a helluva lot better this morning. Between yesterday morning and this morning I managed to get about 45 minutes of benchtime in. I've started on the BMF. Although it aint a whole lot I figured I'd better post some progress to let you all know I'm still among the living here........ I got the rear trim done on the deck lid and the quarter panels: and the side window channel trim: I'll be picking up the pace in the coming days fellas -

Got some progress today on the build in the form of starting on the BMF application. I managed to get the area at the rear part of the car where the trunk is and the drivers and passengers quarter window post/ track. So far I've had decent luck with it and will post photos tomorrow after I've made some more progress. -
So far , so good!! Body work is coming out smoothly!

No problem Tim. That's what we're here for bud and this is looking great so far BTW!

Man that thing looks good Tom!!!! The great part is that the level of detail and work is as good as if you just built one build, let alone six!! Great work man! Just 5 more! lol -

Coming together nicely. Looks like that motors gonna fit in there like a glove! -
Jason your progress is looking awesome man! As far as the decal instructions from Monogram???? I completely get where you are coming from. What do you see wrong here: I don't know who's asleep at the wheel up there in the decal placement section for instruction sheets up there at the model plant but if they aint already fired, they need to be that's for sure! The R/H upper wing decal should read 24WE not 14MR!!! I had already laid the wrong decal on too thinking that was correct until I ended up with an extra 24WE decal !!! I was able to repair it but that was frustrating to say the least!

Thanks Dan! I would like to say that persistence is probably a more accurate word than dedication! LOL Brodie: Thank you as well sir! I'm not perfectionist that's for sure. If I was that I'd never get this build finished! lol. I just know what I want is all. I have had this model built in my head for some time now so I know the direction I want to go with it. I appreciate the fact that I was an inspiration to you and looking forward to your successes with the BMF. Tom: Thank you for the encouragment along the way and that goes for Greg, Carl and Lee as well! Jim: Thanks for the "atta boy" and the tips. Just so you know I did strip the paint from the tips and apply the BMF straight to the plastic for the very reasons you gave already and is the reason for how smooth they turned out. I'd like to offer a word of thanks for your inspiration to me and the help along the way. -

Tommy: I know what you mean with the varying results. I've re-chromed these tips now three times. I think I've finally got it though. Tim: I took your tip a step further. I only have Testors paint thinner so I applied that and followed it up with a cotton swab soaked with ISO then applied the BMF. I posted pics below and although the end of the tips looks somewhat questionable in the photo (another macro shot to show flaws you can barely see without a vision aid ) I think I can touch it up and make it fly. Thanks for the tip buddy! John: Thank you sir!! Everybody: Here are todays shots after two more applications of this BMF before I got it all down. Again the flaws are evident only in macro form. I wear 1.25x glasses and can't see half of this stuff! I still need to darken the inside of the tips and touch up the hanger strap on one muffler (after a 1-1/2 hour session applying and inspecting progress I feel a little )so it's not truly finished yet but here's the latest............... and a close up shot of the tip. The shine and the way the BMF layed down smooth turned out to my liking on this! -
Great work so far Tim! The detail and finish work on this thing displays nothing but raw talent! Keep it comin' hoss!

Tom: Thank you sir! I'm looking forward to the finish as well. Lee: Thanks buddy! On this build I'm going to leave the interior as is here. I've gotta have something that says "I was here when I was 14!" . Dan: Thank you as well bud! I've used this stuff before and you're right.................it's addictive! Jeremy: Thanks Jeremy! I appreciate that! Everybody:Today I tried BMF on for size in the automotive world. To briefly qualify myself here, I am no stranger to this stuff. I use it in my aircraft building in places that had bare aluminum, particularly on my Luftwaffe subjects. My Fw190D-9 with matte aluminum BMF on the undersides: My experience with BMF in the automotive world went quite different. It took me several tries before I was even remotely satisfied with the outcome. The chrome BMF, I found out, requires this stuff to be as smooth as a baby's butt. I have mixed feelings about it here but I think I can live with it. -

Thank you Jim and Brodie! I feel like that all the frikkin' time Jim! I'm loving this build the whole way but I'm ready for it to be done already! lol . I'm not gonna short cut it or give in but that feeling is there all the time about the getting done. What's really funny about it is that this was initially going to be a job where I pulled it down from the shelf, painted a replacement hood and rear spoiler up, install the two pieces and put it back up on the shelf so I could move on to my Bf109 build that's still in the box next to the bench. I had no idea what I was in for.
