  1. This'll be a sneak peek as well as the last update on this car that I'll post until I'm finished or something seriously goes wrong with this build. I've still got a couple of things to do like 1. Scrub the tire tread on tires and touch up the rim edges and then install permanently onto the vehicle. Also the rear wheel isn't "sucked" all the way down on the tire which makes the tire look like it's not properly seated on the wheel so I'll have to make that happen as well. 2. Install all door handles and outside rear view mirrors (mirrors still need the Alclad II treatment) 3. Add the metal coating to the windshield wiper arms 4. Apply the PE M U S T A N G lettering to the trunk lid (although I am contemplating a complete repaint and clearing of the trunk lid because it doesn't seem to be as dark a shade of blue as the rest of the car). 5. Install the exhaust tips that I just got applying the Alclad Chrome treatment to 6. Install radiator hoses and final details in the engine bay 7. Paint the bottom side of the hood Anyhow....here's where we are right now. I couldn't resist throwing my "REMOVE BEFORE FLIGHT" tag hanging from the mirror. I've had this tag on all my 1:1 scale rides for the last 32 years now. It was in Mustang #2 of mine, my blue #3 Mustang, my 89 LX Coupe and now in my Silverado truck.
  2. It's been a while since I've been in here to look at your work but I swear to you man.......I am truly inspired as well as impressed every single time that I visit this thread. This truck......is a thing of beauty Francis.
  3. That's a good looking ride Mario. Where'd you source those back drops from?
  4. Color and gloss finish turned out great. Good lookin' car Bruce.
  5. I know right? I can't even build an engine for a model in a weekend much less a whole dang build. Excellent turn out.
  6. Looking forward to this.
  7. Color and the application of it are "all THAT". Looking good Patrick!!
  8. Good choice. I LOVE doing black interiors. Your choice in paint color for the exterior is a good one and the results with it are really good.
  9. Lookin' good with that startup on this build. Looking forward to more.
  10. Thank you Craig. To me, the front and rear panels of this model make or break the whole build. All the efforts in the world can be put into what's in between these two panels but if either one of these are messed up it's like a black eye on the entire thing.
  11. Thanks good friend Francis. Yeah I hear what you're talking about with the sensitive to handling thing but this stuff just gives such a good result. I'm gonna have to go over and check your truck out man. Been a while.
  12. Finished up the rear panel this morning. I've never really liked the lower bumper guards on either side of the license plate on these cars so I stripped the chrome off of the bumper, cut those off and smoothed everything out. I then began the Alclad re-chroming process. All in all I'm REALLY happy with the turnout....
  13. That paint looks GREAT Bob! I really like that wheel tub cover that you came up with too.
  14. Looks like you've got the overall look down pat. I agree about the wheel/ tire combo but sounds like you've got plans to get that covered. Glad you found the supercharger that you wanted too.
  15. Yeah.......I'll be following this one with great interest. All the work you're putting into this is really going to make this build shine well.
  16. Thanks Steve. I really appreciate the kind words. I'm really looking forward to the finish line and am fighting back getting in a hurry with it. Thanks Carl. I just couldn't resist. lol Thank you for the comments and the suggestion on the alternator Bob. I'm not one for the mystical floating alternator effect either. I couldn't really do anything bottom side but I did manage to install an adjuster bracket (even though it's not a true factory part) on the top of the alternator to the water pump when I built it.
  17. Well…here we are so far gang. Got the lenses, bezels, fuel cap and license plate installed. I will go into more detail on the rear bumper in the next post but I made some much needed changes to it. My plans are to strip the chrome off of the bumper and re-apply in lieu of the mods. Here’s the latest…
  18. This should be alot of fun to watch. BTW....great subject. My grandfather had one of these old Cutlass' and he was going to gift it to me but my dad stopped him. Probably a good move because that old car was no slouch and I was an idiot teenage driver at the time.
  19. Looking forward to it very much good buddy Dann.
  20. Glad you got the corrected body Dennis. I just received mine last week and it's all that AND a whole bag of party mix. Shoutout to Mike for the help and to you, Dennis, for bringing the updated body and caster to light. Looking forward to more.........
  21. I hear ya. I started a 1980 Malibu kit a couple of years ago but the more I looked at the resin cast body the more terrible it looked. Just an awful casting. I'd really like to snag a Perry's resin 1979 or 80 model Malibu kit as his is the ultimate best but don't even know if he's still doing anything. Looking forward to seeing your corrections and continued progress.
  22. Thank you Mike! 'Preciate that Trevor. For some reason this time it just flowed really smooth!! Thank you good buddy Carl!! Thanks for taggin' along JR!! Great to have you in here!! Thanks Ian!! Thank you for the comments Dave!! Dan!!! Long time no talk pal!! Awww dangit man!!! That weekend I'll be up attending my nephew's college graduation. When's the HAMMS show?? Gotta try and make one dude!!
  23. This morning I finally got the PE grille and the fog light system put into place. Have to touch up the fog light chrome but will wait until I’ve got everything on the car so I don’t risk messing the touch ups up with excessive handling.
  24. This should be fun to watch come together.
