  1. MAN alive that looks good!!!
  2. Some more progress. In the last week it's been mostly build up and getting things ready for the painting stage of the build. Looks like the wing/ fuselage fit is gonna be pretty good on this one. Good ol' Tamiya kits....just can't beat 'em.
  3. OMG!!! Man this just keeps getting better and better. Continuing your true to form kicking A$$ and taking names!
  4. I've missed all this commentary so I apologize for not getting back with you guys. I actually acquired the Jo-Han stock Maverick kit which has the blank grille as well. Interesting about Fast Eddie's kit. And here I thought that all these drag kits came with the turn signals in the grille.
  5. Just to show some progress at the bench. I've managed to get the fuselage halves joined together. I've just got the upper nose panels press fitted into place during the whole body work/ painting process. Sanding and filling are at a premium here..... One thing I do NOT miss about aircraft modeling is seam filling in small areas. The seam line going down the middle of the bird was interrupted by these small panels in front of the windscreen soooooooooooo.....gotta take care of the seam lines on the panels themselves. I'll be using my tried and true super glue filling method on these and then I'll rescribe the panel lines.
  6. Looking forward to the assembly process on this one.
  7. Thanks Bob. Still on this one even though it's moving a little slower now. Just glad we got our normal work weeks back so I can dedicate some more time to it.
  8. Continuing to blow minds one update at a time........ Wow!!!
  9. I was eyeballing this kit from FA a year ago. I still want it but will watch this build for some ideas of how to pull it off. BTW......very cool subject.
  10. Oh HELL yeah!!! This is gonna be frickin' COOL!!! I'm gonna be tagging along on this one for dang sure. Cool pictures back in '73 too Dave!
  11. Thanks Mike! It's been a while since I've been in here due to working 7 days a week for a straight month. Our family went on vacation last week so I was away from the bench for a week. I've been able to fit some bench time in over the course of the last month though. Gun bay is completely assembled, painted and weathered. In real life this was one of the most formidable weapons platforms in an aircraft at that time. Four Mk 108 30mm cannon angled so that all rounds were set to converge at 450 meters. Really packed a punch.
  12. Some progress on the gun platform. Got some more detailing and weathering to do in here but had to post a pic to let you guys know that I'm still progressing with this build. I'll be away from the bench as our family will be out of town for the next week on vacation so I felt that I needed to have some sorta progress goin' anyways. lol
  13. Thanks Rusty!! Managed to finish the cockpit off this morning.
  14. Thanks Mike. It's definitely been a while but I've been watching others and taking notes. Thank you Francis! And thanks for tagging along pal. It's not really all that different....just alot smaller. lol
  15. There's just no end to the level of detail on this bad boy. Keep 'er comin' Francis.....still watchin' bro.
  16. Thanks Mike. I've still got some touch ups to do and some more parts to install but I did manage to get some progress done on this ....
  17. Well......looks like I dropped the ball on commenting to this beauty early on. What a cool subject and fabulous build this turned out to be Dan. Really impressive work brother. Hope all is going well with you buddy.
  18. Off the charts fabrication. Looking good Marcos.
  19. Today's instrument panel mock up. There's gonna be some more detailing to this in the way of painting up and detailing the back of the IP gauges/ wiring.
  20. I don't know if I should brag or hang my head in shame but yes sir .....I did Tom. The outcome is that I DID get a kit that I've been wanting for a loooooooooooooooooong time.
  21. I had one of these in my stash years ago but some where along the line I let it go. I've given thought to trying the 1/48 ICM offering of this aircraft.
