I don't know what your plans for the engine detailing are but IMO a dark tinted wash would make some of the available details really pop under the hood. Looking very nice. Thanks for sharing your vision with us.

Thanks for posting this excellent build. Delivering coal was a dirty and thankless job in those days. I have a photograph of my grandfather who delivered coal with a horse and wagon all hand shoveled of course. His Nick name was "black" for obvious reasons. The trucks were a big step up from the horses but imagine driving it in rain and snow.

Nice save of a vintage bow tie rag top. Those '60's were new cars the year I graduated from high school. Then there was no doubt what car you were looking at then,every year was a complete re-design from the previous model year. These look great. I would like to order several sets when you decide to offer them. I build scratch built antique travel trailers and use these as clearance lights for the front. I also need these same lights cast in clear red for the rear sections. Is that possible?Please post the availability on the forums when ready.

I agree in your preferred wheel choice. The military style with the openings around the rim edge is the most vintage look. The hub cap style looks like something swiped from a parked police cruiser outside a dounut shop.:) I will gladly send a couple photos of some of my speedster engine color choices if you PM my your email address. Either way this project is surely headed in the right direction.

I like to paint the engine and transmission the same color as the body as using black hides all of the extra work you are doing here.

I personally have always liked the overall concept of this custom car. Always have,always will. It may not compare to some of the coach built stuff currently being built costing into the millions of dollars and designed by computer programs but this was a world class full on show car in it's day.Like it or don't we all are entitled to our own opinion.

I bought some bodies from him as well. That was RMR who bought the old molds from R&R after Ray parsons died a few years ago and his wife sold the business assets. Ray's stuff tended to be crude sometimes so that might have been one of his pieces. I got a '48 Chevy four door master sedan , a '61 Chevy flat top two door sedan and a custom coupe that Might have been based on a Galaxie '48 Chevy. That one was so dirty that I soaked it in soapy water and scrubbed it with a finger nail brush to get it clean.
