I was just starting to like the direction this was headed when you filled in the side windows.IMHO that destroys the flow of the profile. The '40 Ford was always an akward design anyway but the changes you were making by converting it into a flower car was a unique styling move. All flower cars are one off builds. The Superior coach Corp of Lima,Ohio was one of the premier funeral coach and professional car builders at one time.I had a reason to stop in their factory back in the 1960's and always took the time to walk over to where the flower transport vehicles were being hand built.Facinating vehicles built by real American craftsman. All I am saying is that I would have taken a different design direction that you have but those are the things that make us all unique isn't it.We alll build what WE like and hope others appreciate what we create. If not that's OK as long as we are happy with the finished product.Good luck with your project.

I just found this thread tonite and am really impressed with your design and construction skills.Your willingness to make completely new panels from fiberglass and integrate into a body that old shows not only a willingnes to think outside the box but bulldog like tenacity for combining it all into a most impressive street radical custom. Thanks so much for sharing your passion and skill with us!

A quick internet search just now reveals several sites that have photos of this vehicle officially known as the Duntov EX87.It set a lot of speed test records in the 1960's using engines of various displacements. As for what I would do about that fin..I would find a straight on side view of the car, print that out and enlarge the entire image till the well known wheel base is reached then print that image out for use as a pattern then cut some sheet styrene to the correct size and build it up in layers until it it looks correct rather than search for a piece to swap from another kit. The internet articles reveal that Duntov added that fin for stability at high speeds. The photos I looked at just now show the fin to be mechanically attached to the body rather that molded in.These are just my thoughts as to how I would proceed were it my project.Enjoy the build and be sure to keep us all dialed in on the progress.

Maybe we should all have another Twinkie and hug it out): -
Window frames and drip edges have always been a problem for me too.I have already ground them off completely from the inside where is was feasible and made whole new separate pieces and inserted them from the inside.Stick with it.This is going to be very nice when done.

Your 1:1 is a real head turner and I'm sure it's a pleasure to drive as well.I'm anxious to back my '48 Chevy sedan out of the garage and get on with some street time myself.

I suggest you double check the size of that box.If it is in fact 31 feet by 11 feet then you would have had it delivered by semi flat bed truck.):

Thanks for taking the time to photograph and post these.Nice to see a stock model T for a change.I believe that stock builds can be more difficult that hot rodded cars in that a whole lot if time and effort is needed to choose and find the correct paint colors as well as proper wiring details etc.Nicely done.

Thanks for posting these.I owned one this same color combination for several years and loved it.Great job!

If your station is a "fixed in time"dio I what year is it built to represent?Since the oil cans you have on display in the window were not in use untill after world war 2 I'm assuming you built it as a post war piece.

Thanks for the information on the use of the cab and chassis units for bus production. That will be very useful for my bus project. One of our older residents here in town told me that his father bought one of the local bus units after the war time use was discontinued and removed the seats for use as a huckster's truck for delivery of grocery orders locally. If you're interested in seeing the photo I have PM me your email address and I'll forward that photo to you. Thanks again for your time, research and photos! FYI..The Timmerman's mentioned in Lima,Ohio would have been about 30 miles north of her eand the Superior Coach built bus would have also been built in Lima.Small world isn't it? -
