  1. I am in awe of how incredibly complicated this project has become!Simply stunning.
  2. While looking for cool images for my Pintrest album titled"scale model trailers"I found photo of three 1/25 scale travel trailers on display at a model show. Two were replicas of Airfloat brand trailers with their distinctive row of round side Windows and the third was a replica of a mid 1930's Airstream Clipper.I would like to get in touch with the builders and would appreciate knowing they are. Thanks in advance for any info.
  3. Nicely done!
  4. Nicely dome tri five bowtie. My very first car was a '55 so I have a natural love for those done as well as yours is.Thanks for sharing.
  5. Great model and outstanding photography as well. Thanks for sharing!
  6. Every Walmart in the world will have sanding sticks in their beauty products department,They come in varying grits and are used for finger nail work.I have already made a few custom sized and shaped sanding sticks using the coffee stirring stick as a base.I made those to sand in a specific place where a regular one simply won't reach.
  7. I took a look into your albums and there is a lot of really beautiful work there! I highly recommend that everyone take a look for yourself.
  8. There is so much imagination and innovational in this build that I hope you will consider creating a photo album of the in process photos you are sharing with us and having it on diplay wherever the completed model will be displayed.
  9. There were so many beautiful wood sided cars in this era,It's shame so few have been offered in kit form. The latest is the Galaxie '47 Chevy series that has the optional Sportsman wooden side panels available. In 1947 those were a dealer installed option. Hope this styrene diversion will offer some respite from whatever your personal health challanges are. Thanks for sharing.
  10. I finished reading David McCullough's new bio last week titled"the Wright Brothers"and highly recommend it.Excellent book that reveals the true personal lives of these truly intelligent gentlemen that changed the world forever with their experiments into heavier that air manned flight. They were true gentlemen with a sense of dedication and work ethics we really need more of today. They were never influenced by money, power or prestige in their indevers and never lost sight of what they invisioned as possible.I think one of my personal favorite quotes is from Orville near the end of the book.As he lived long enough to see the military applications of their invention he was interviewed by a newspaper reporter and asked if he flet and personal responsibility for the death and destruction that had been unleashed upon the world due to the military's use of their invention he repliied"No more than the person who discovered fire does when a house burns." I also am a Clive Cussler fan and have read about 40 of his books since retiring 6 years ago.I love his talent for describing the people in his books and his ability to weave ancient history and modern tech into so many of his plots.
  11. I am looking for a source for some logo decals or peel and stick type in 1/25th scale for the Airstream travel trailer logo.Let me know if you have any suggestions.I do not have the skills or materials to produce my own decals from photos. Thanks!!
  12. Do you have any in progress photos of the wooden teardrop?I would appreciate seeing them posted here for reference while I am building a series of camper trailers.
  13. Great project!I love your out of the box building approach to almost every aspect of this model.Your scratch building skills are outstanding as well the gas tank, lights and tool boxes are great stuff! Thanks for sharing.
  14. Great project with outstanding innovation in techniques and styling.Your idea for extending the wheel well openings into the belly pan totally works. That integrates the pan into the upper body very well. Thanks for taking the extra time to detail your procedures and photograph every important step along the way.I'm sure a lot of builders will be using several of your ideas on future builds.
  15. great color choices. Thanks or sharing!
  16. This is one of those designs that makes me think"if this was the best design that had...what in the check did they throw out?"
  17. A very likable build and well done in the that rusty and crusty style.nice to see this classic kit done so well.
  18. Great high def reference photos if nothing else. Thanks for sharing.
  19. John you are a brave man to attempt such a complicated body modification on your fourth model. That rear deck replacement is not easy task no matter how you do it.It would be cool to build it in low rider style with an extended rear bumper shelf and a old school continental kit.
  20. I hope you are planning on displaying this over a mirrored surface at some point. It would be a shame to see this in person and not be able to view all the awsome undercarriage work.Really a benchmark project sure to inspire a lot of builders to do similar projects.
  21. Very cool project done in the finest tradition of all things NNL!If you know anyone headed to our Ohio NNL Nationals in October please consider sending(or even better yet bringing it) so we can all see it in person. Thanks for sharing !!
  22. Thanks Bill,Somewhere along the line this topic made an unplanned left turn. When I started out I was simply looking for a way to utilize the aluminum plate I already had on hand. That plate has a stubborn surface coating on both sides not allowing me to polish it the way I wanted. As always all those responding are offering every helpful suggestion they can including the choices of abandoning the printer's plate for optional material choices.I still have not decided what I am going to do.I have constructed a simple tear drop trailer as a practice platform for attaching some aluminum plate to see how it looks before moving on to a much more complicated project which will require traingluar shaped and curved segments to form it's outer shell. That is a 1936 Airstream Clipper travel trailer. I have a 1935 Airstream Torpedo trailer ready to paint that's complicated shape does not lend itself to the application of any real metal plate at all. That one will be painted MM aluminum plate metalizer.
