Shelby Magazine 2018 Annual
vamach1 replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
They seem to be hit or moss as far as when the come out. Now that you mention it I have not seen one in a long time. -

It is coming along very nicely.

I have a broken Gulf one (wheels broken off) but I can probably salvage it to do a gulf version since it is already blue but the rears are the same on both which is odd.
-
Good to know. I repainted one dark blue a log time ago. Not any particular car - just has GT40 rocker stripes in silver.

This is the only IMC kit I have not built (out of all the GT40's J Car, Mustang II) but it looks similar to the AMT 289 Cobra (chassis and engine) and you can find the Testors or Lindbergh versions pretty cheap so there's isn't much to lose if the frustration level gets too high.
-
I think that other magazine did a review on this kit.
-
Marjorette also did a GT40 also which may not have as many quirks as the Cobra.
-
I think so. None of the later issues have the GT40 type smaller window.

Which Model Gave You a Whoopin'?
vamach1 replied to 10thumbs's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
It's never too late. Two of these I built a long time ago and the J car more recently. Are they a pain, yes, but I'd say it was worth it. -
Was there decals for the battery on the sheet? I think some of he kits had the Autolite one. Youcan still get the great decals made by The Last Detail for the Revell 69 Mach1 on Ebay from a guy in Australia if you are going to build that kit.

Looking very nice. You would have thought I would have built one by now. I will eventually get at least one of almost every early (65-73) stock Mustang built. It's too late for the 50th and 55th but maybe by the 60th anniverary. I did manage to pull together 50 built kits for the 50th by including all scales from 1/16 to 1/43 and displayed them at the NJ NNL in 2014.

You should come to a meeting. I have been a member for 30 years and it is a great group of people.

Very nice. Then white interior really stands out. How is the engine coming along? A dumb question. I am bad at remembering names. Have you been to any MAMA meetings in Greenbelt MD?

Nothing too original. I chose an EBAY name about 20 years ago and it stuck. Combo of Virginia and Mach1. I have owned two 1972's and a 2004. I tries to get personalized license plates and someone already had them. . So I got Mach1VA instead.
