  1. I like the chassis replacement. The only downside is the cost of two kits for the conversion. It would be so nice if Round2 upgraded all their promo style chassis to more realistic ones.
  2. An admirable build considering all the kits shortcomings. It’s too bad Round2 did not use the original AMT molds and just rebranded the flawed MPC as an AMT kit. I would not blame you if you glued the hood shut because of the incorrect kits engines and toy like engine compartment. The Revell kit is going to be a great improvement over the original AMT and MPC issues.
  3. Yes there are some interesting items that will probably go for half or less of the original retail prices.
  4. That’s a bummer. I think I was planning all along to paint the grommets molded in the seats with a Molotow pen as the center of the holes look too small on the KA metal pieces.
  5. Super nice with all the improvements and of course the color is beautiful. When I built a similar MPC version recently I did not deviate very far from a stock build but yours shows it was worth the extra efforts.
  6. You can order them and the S&H was only $1.50 and they sent them priority mail because the USPS does not care what regular folks pay for shipping. ? Most of us would spend at least $1.50 in gas to drive the local post office.
  7. I ordered two sets from USPS.com with only a small handling charge.
  8. It’s the 289 with a four barrel intake/carb from Mad Mike. That engine will probably go into a GT350.
  9. After reviewing my stash there is no doubt I could build #14. As a side note I have two sets of the Scale Coach works decals sheets if anyone needs a particular number etc.
  10. I’ll claim one of the 289 Cobra’s to build. Either #12 or #14 depending which decals I have already.
  11. Very nice as always. I do not have definite plans for my Lindberg kit so you have sparked an idea and I may go that route with mine.
  12. Looking good and I really like the battery.
  13. Very nice build with the extra detailing. It’s hard to believe six years has gone by since the race.
  14. My son got a Lego Titanic for his 22nd birthday three days ago. He finished it today. ? It has over 9,000 pieces.
  15. Here’s the finishing order, DNF’s, practice only and no shows.
  16. With these kits (67 SHelby and fastback) I have glued the front and rear sections together and paint the entire body as one piece. It’s a little trickier getting the chassis in the body. This way you can fill in the gaps where there are not supposed to be any. I cannot remember about the radiator but it should be attached to the radiator support. Ignore the red reflection on the chrome in the pictures.
  17. Very nice and the interior looks amazing. I have a set of MCG photoetch somewhere and will have to add them to the next one I build.
  18. The color looks great.
  19. Welcome back JC.
  20. Very nice Gramps. The extra touches really make it stand out.
  21. Looks great and I love the color.
  22. I know the thread was started a long time ago. Are the unfinished models (works of art) still in the museum?
  23. CSX2287 has a bizarre history from the Salt Flats records to movies to the National Register. I have seen the car several times at the Simeone museum in Philly and at the Washington DC auto show where I got to talk to Pete Brock for about 30 minutes.
