  1. Outstanding job on this kit and adding all the extras.
  2. Very nice group of Mustangs.
  3. It was 30 years ago but I’m pretty sure I used epoxy for any non-plastic parts except photo-etch where I would usually use non fogging super glue.
  4. I would like to see the GT40 kit as well but I think the Chinese put out kits at 1/10 the cost of what his would have been. Granted the CMA kit might be ten times better but I’m sure the quantity would be very limited. The website is still there and you could try emailing Mr. Buck or send him a $10,000 deposit and he might build one for you. ?
  5. Imagine driving on the “ring” on these skinny tires. ?
  6. Very nice. It’s nice to see these old American Muscle cars on the European circuits amongst all the smaller cars. Once I figure out where my kits are I need to finish my 73 Mustang that was driven in the 74 SPA 24 hours by a local entrant. The decals will be hard to replicate.
  7. My bad. I did not realize he raced a 289 and 427 in the same color and number and mixed up the Facebook photos of the 289 with the Mecum auction site pictures of the 427. Some of the vintage pictures look colorized as they seem a little too perfect.
  8. Found these picture on Facebook and Mecum site of Tom Payne’s 427 Cobra CSX 3020 if anyone is looking for reference pictures of this version.
  9. I recognize the tire on the left but am not sure which kits they were in but I can tell you they were probably in some Mustang kits (71-73 perhaps) as I have sets of a few of my builds.
  10. Very nice and it looks like it has held up well over the years. I also built mine in the early 1990’s. I recently acquired another kit if I get the urge to tackle building another one.
  11. Great job and probably a lot more work than laying down a glossy paint job with clear coat. Nicely done.
  12. I had some help from the artist who painted most of the car but I did complete the scenery and the rest of the car. ?
  13. It might be best to order a large spray can or bottles from a full size car car paint company. Arcadian blue is the correct color. I have seen many models of the 2nd place Lemans winner painted “Gulf” blue but that is incorrect.
  14. Yes I would say Greenlight tried to do the AJ car but obviously got the stripes wrong and missed most of the sponsor decals and the tires stick out way too far.
  15. My GTM kit finally arrived from Japan. At least it represents better what is is supposed to be (early CSX chassis) as compared to the Revell/Sunny 289 that is also based on the AMT kit but only has a different body that’s not even accurate for a FIA car.
  16. Following this one as well. Gary McNutt had decals made for his rally version 66 coupe which started life as a diecast. I think he posted some WIP pictures a year or so ago. There are some 1/43 diecasts which are not bad. Here’s a 1/64 Greenlight of the Number 4 Group II car. Accuracy in that scale isn’t great but no surprise there for a mass produced item.
  17. Very nice. The engine look like it has some characteristics of a 351 Cleveland. Is that the engine that came in the kit?
  18. Welcome back from your time away from the hobby. Glad to hear you were able to connect with other builders. Your projects will be followed by many on this forum. Keep up the great work. Most wife’s or girlfriends do not understand our plastic obsession. ?
  19. Took a few more pictures. The purple is subtle and shows up better in sunlight.
  20. I need to find a upper radiator hose that fits but otherwise I am calling this one complete. It is a Scale Productions Eleanor transkit. I used the AMT chassis and a 428 CJ engine from the Revell 67 GT500 diecast kit. The paint is Testors Bright Blue with some light coats of Colorshift Purple Sunrise. The model in the background is a Greenlight diecast. I modified the AMT kit exhaust to replicate the side exit pipes. I choose not to build the kit as an exact Eleanor movie clone as I have seen many pictures of real ones painted in many other colors besides grey,
  21. Looking good Ray. Color is beautiful.
  22. Yes there is that. Sadly it is why mail order costs less if you factor in the cost to drive somewhere. I rarely buy kits anymore except at shows on occasionally on Ebay as there are no few truly new kits that come out that I would want. Even chasing diescasts (greenlight, m2, etc.) Is getting very frustrating as stores get picked over as soon as shipments arrive.
  23. Have you been to Tech toys? They appear to be doing well and appear in the background of a Progressive commercial.
