Based upon the recent Revell rehashed Sunny not an FIA Cobra kit, I doubt we will see any mold changes such as the rack and pinion setup used on the later cars. It’s improbable that there will be a 1/25 427 Cobra kit or a Daytona Coupe either even though there would be parts the new kits would have with the molds created almost 60 years ago.

I opened up my kit and noticed it was going to almost be impossible to paint as one piece so I took it apart like you did. Mine is molded in white so not sure what color I may paint it - perhaps red.

Reissue of Warren Tope's '73 Trans-Am Mustang
vamach1 replied to '70 Grande's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I finally started on two bodies which the plan is to make look as close as possible to these racing Mustangs from back in the early 1970’s. They both start with the stock body but of course the Tope car has radically widened fenders and a gas filler in the Tope of the trunk. The Wayne Andrews stock car has the front fenders cut out quite a lot plus the gas filler on the rear quarter panel and a rear spoiler. Once I get the chassis built for each I’ll post mock up pictures. -
Sorry I do not have anymore. I’m not sure if Norman Veber of R&M of Maryland still has the mold he made from the Johan funny car hood I loaned him. Not sure of he is casting again after his heart surgery a few months ago. Try contacting him in a few weeks.

1/16 scale models I built (66 Mustang, 67 Mustang and 68 Shelby) the MadMax Mustang plus some diecast and a slot car mixed in.

Nice chassis and love the detailing and the paint lines on the driveshaft.

I just saw BOC last night. They opened up for Deep Purple. They had a short set but did the a mix of older hits and new material. No fancy lights - just playing good music. I have seen them three times in the last five years. The second time was in Maryland in 2018 at a very small dinner theatre where our seats at our table were so close I could touch the stage.

'66 Shelby Mustang Group II
vamach1 replied to afx's topic in WIP: Other Racing: Road Racing, Land Speed Racers
Thanks. I thought they looked familiar. -
The brand is Sunstar and was part of the Ford Legends series. I think it came out in 2003 but not sure.

Which resin webers did you use? -
These three kits ( the MKII and roadster are Lemans Miniatures) are hard to see in the first photo of the display. I wonder why?

Good news is I have even searching for this 1/18 model for many years. It has gotten more expensive and the listings all seem to e in Europe which increases the shipping costs. I got an offer from an Ebay seller and I accepted it. It arrived via priority mail and the bad news it was put in a long box lightly wrapped in some brown paper so it spent a lot of time sliding back and forth in the box during transit. It’s never a good sign to hear rattling parts for a diecast when you pick up a box. No reply yet from the seller but I managed to superglue the umper and drag chute back on and reinstall the steering wheel and column and touch up a lot of paint chips. As part of the awesome shipping the seller used scotch tape to “hold” the hood shut. Not only is that not going to work on a heavy diecast but the tape can also “lift” up any decals thus adding more unnecessary damage to any otherwise nice model.

Color looks great.

II saw Deep Purple and Blue Oyster Cult last night. I wish BOC had a longer set. They sounded great and and pretty much stick to the studio recorded versions. I had not seen Deep Purple before but they were okay and relied a lot on the keyboard and lead guitar player to entertain the crowd. Ian Gillian who is 76 years old could still hit the high notes but I wish I had seen them 40-45 years ago. Hey for $60 a ticket I guess I cannot complain too much.

Yes the MPC kit goes together very well compared to IMC version. The J-Car has a lot of parts in common with the MKIV.

Thanks. Yes the MPC J-Car and on the top shelf left case is also an IMC J-car but it’s hard to see in the picture.

It’s taken a while since the move six months ago from VA to FL but I bought some extra shelves for these three display cases and finished arranging them today. The sizes range from 1/144 to 1/16.

Nice Gary. I think my obsession has rubbed off on you as you seem to be acquiring more Mustangs.?

Very nice considering what you had to work with.
