  1. Found an old ad for the Honda motorcycle line circa 60's Thought you would enjoy: greg
  2. I think every manufacturer used the C Cab for apparatus, Just depended on cabinetry and pump configuration, I would use the long frame or splice the AMT/ALF pumper frame to the Ford. recommend ScaleFirehouse.com for info from the fire model builders. greg
  3. glad to see this thread , missed this one, good job, nice details and nice corrections like the useless rear view mirrors in the kit, It is always neat to see other modelers aids and hints applied by another. The kit booster reel hose is not useless, makes great radiator hoses. greg
  4. Yes that is the old Revell part pak Triumph greg
  5. Very curious if that is a Buick interior tub, I don't recall side pin locators on the old kits. greg
  6. Getting gas the other night and a Ford Ranger at the next pump, blue over silver dropped suspension, custom bed cover, all slick body, filling the tank inside the bed, powered by 302, greg
  7. JT, I found in Wikipedia this picture of a Simba that the doors are one piece and not the accordion doors in the kit, might be an easy modification. The piercing nozzle might not be to hard to make. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/87/2010-03-10_Rosenbauer_Simba_8x8_aussen_01.jpg greg
  8. Things change, in my area the A&W root beer restaurant with the drive up was torn down for an Advanced Auto parts store, Next the parts store will close when they make it against the law to work on your car greg
  9. Went to Wikipedia and looked up Chrysler hemi and found twelve different cubic inch hemi's from the 50/60's 392 was a Chrysler and 341 was a Desoto engine Cubic inches ranged from 241 to 392 until the late 60 intro of the 426 The 'hemi' hydro should have 'firedome' heads greg
  10. Thanks for the article on a boat that I saw in the LHS in 1963, but I did not like Revell models back then and got the re release and built it. I preferred the AMT. It is interesting that the engine grew in the years as you listed it as a 392 Hemi on page 7 of your photos and on page 14 the original box art side panel lists it as a 341 .(will be filling the cylinder heads to check) Another question since I'm in the Buckeye state and have no idea what the west coast boat would be like, what side should the steering wheel be on? greg
  11. The 'blue brothers' Dodge could be a 4 n 1 kit, all from the movie, Original, Blues modified, Illinois State police and Chicago PD all in one box. greg
  12. Charlie, Thanks for sharing this in this forum, To all the forum users you could swear you could stick ignition keys in Charlie's models and they would start. I have seen his works for years and here is a real master. Very proud to be able to call him friend greg
  13. Some recent interstate encounters: I 90 between Erie and Cleveland: I 76 between Akron and Youngstown, Military convoy with what looked like ancillary equipment for a missile battery Six trucks with one carrying a radar dome trailer set similar to the old Renwal/Revell Hawk missile set, another with 4 wheel trailer/carriers for something round. I think the trucks were OshKosh's if anyone can pin it down post it please. greg
  14. Thanks for all the reply but this is a serious situation and if you are really interested please pm me. greg
  15. Does anyone have a suggestion how to dispose of a hoarder's collection?
  16. I'll add my scratch built Faun/Magirus - drawn up from the Preiser HO scale kit to 1/25th. Used the Ertle Payhauler tires as base and lots of Evergreen plastic siding Here is the original Preiser Just a comparison with the Revell Simba greg
  17. welcome aboard greg
  18. Just a masterpiece from the master, I find little details each time I look at the pictures greg
  19. Here is what I posted awhile ago http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=95277&hl=raptor http://www.autoblog.com/2010/11/23/us-border-patrol-ford-svt-raptor-spy-shots/ greg
  20. Do you ever feel like your building your models over a black hole? greg
  21. Yes, platform is black plastic and checking the link in Southpier (Joe) answer it is called a platform, I use it to make windshields and emergency lights for my models I get transparent 020 plastic from a local dealer greg
  22. I have collected three units and you can use 010 to 020 plastic in the machines, They don't need to be perforated as the pins will grab the sheets, The only thing I hope you have is the platen that goes inside the square indention of the vacuum side, good luck greg
  23. I have one and you need the plate inside the tray, 010 to 020 styrene will heat and work and you really don't need the holes as the pins will hold the thinner plastic sheets
  24. It would be interesting if somebody would do a 'how to' to change it to a coal burner instead of wood, or make after market parts to make the UP gold railroad spike engines There was a set of metal figures (Magnuson Foundry) for this kit when it was first released, an interesting diorama would be Prieser (elastolin) American Indian figures chasing the iron horse greg
