  1. This is looking great! Nice work!
  2. I finally decided I have enough information to get started. Technically, the twisted bundle from the dash panel would just be a continuation of the same conduit as the black wire, from the computer box. I used twisted DM Detailing Wire because I think it's more interesting. The white wires will connect to the exhaust gas temp modules (one left, one right). I also will install "probes" for axle speed, clutch speed, output shaft speed, fuel pressure, oil pressure and RPM. I'll use some short bits of plug wire insulation for plug ends at the box. Probe ends will be set up, accordingly. I need to re-apply the decals to the top of the battery, as I decided I wasn't happy with them. As always, questions, comments and critiques are welcomed. Thanks for looking!
  3. I've done it. I use Sign Painter's One-Shot enamel. That's how I did the "Conrad's" on this dragster...
  4. Those iridescent numbers are SO '70s! Perfect!
  5. Thank you, Francis! It's been slow going, trying to sort out this thing's "nervous system" (data collection). I think I'm getting closer to being able to really start assembling it. It's been a lot of research. I even get ads for Racepak and other data collection systems on this message board, now.? I built a new box for the computer and battery, this time from styrene, as I never quite made myself happy, in four or five attempts from aluminum. I'll simply apply the same finish as the fuel tank, or perhaps some carbon fiber decal, when the time comes. It still needs a bit of cleanup.
  6. This one came yesterday. I mainly bought it for a chassis for an AMX promo. It needs to be shortened, through the passenger compartment, but looks good, otherwise.
  7. Dang it! I missed this one. I've been looking to pick one up. Good find!
  8. Yes, but does Ahmet??
  9. That's awesome, Brad! It's a great feeling to win a class at GSL. Congratulations, sir!
  10. Very interesting stuff, Richard. I'm sure I recognize some of these names from Tex Smith's Hot Rod History. Vintage dry lakes racing is a fertile ground for modeling project ideas!
  11. I've used Koala's products with pretty decent results. I will try this, for sure. Their regular white is slightly thicker than the clear, but I haven't had any issues with it. Here are a couple of examples: The graphics on the Vega, and the polar bear logo on the Supermodified are the white. If I would ever take the time to learn to use my Cricut, those could have been cut out much more nicely. The "El Centro" on the Supermod's hood is on the clear...
  12. Thanks, Ian. Although it's not apparent in the photos, looking at it in real life, it looks like it's illuminated! I guess it's just the blue I used. I started messing with the wiring. Colors are as per a schematic I found online...
  13. I got the Sox And Martin car for a bit less than they typically go for. It's just something I felt like I wanted! I also got a parting tool for the lathe, with six blades.
  14. Was that QC built by Chrisman? I think I remember hearing that, somewhere. Yeah, it's a monster!
  15. I made a decal for the face panel. It reads :"KERRANG! RACING" then, centered below that, "MAIN MENU" in the same font, but smaller. I used a LCD/LED styled font in light blue, on a deeper blue field. I made the buttons from a strip of Evergreen. I used a strip of thin brass sheet to create the indentations between the buttons. I also made a decal/label for the data recorder battery. I'm currently working on the harness for the data wiring. I'm also trying to figure out how to make "T'"-pulls for the fuel system controls, etc. I kind of like the way it looks in the blue! Your comments are always welcome. Thanks for looking!
  16. Work smarter, not harder, right??
  17. Thank you, Edgar. I appreciate your kind words. I also appreciate your feedback, regarding the panel. You're right, there would most likely be some mode that would illuminate the panel, without the car running. I will make some "LEDs" in different colors and print them.
  18. I would highly recommend buying a roll of this: https://www.munrocrafts.com/product-p/metal-mom-roll-363.htm It's available in brass and copper, as well, although I couldn't imagine needing three square feet of either of those, as a modeler--at this time. One never knows, however. For me, the aluminum is, however, like the Frank's Hot Sauce commercial says--if you catch my drift.? The tooling aluminum is more malleable, yet stiffer than foil pan sheet, and the roll is smooth. I used it to line the interior tub of my Vega Super Gasser--anywhere I want to achieve the look of aluminum sheet, basically. It's not great, structurally, but, it can be used as such, in a pinch. I built two dragster bodies from it--both of which have been rebuilt using aluminum step flashing, which is far superior for structural components. Anyhoo...
  19. What a lot of difficulty you're dealing with, with this thing. Your perseverance is admirable! Nice work, Roger.
  20. Aluminum duct tape also works, excellently. It's already sticky, too.
