  3. I just entered the "Desert Classic" model car contest that is usually held in Arizona this time of year. They are doing a "virtual contest" this year due to coronavirus, which is kind of cool because I probably never would have attended this show under any other circumstance. Steve
  4. By the way, it appears that if anything the '65 Bonneville's wheel base might be just a bit shorter than the '64, although the wheel openings are larger on the '65. Steve
  5. You've come to the right guy! It just so happens that I've been working on this issue, except with '64 Grand Prix and Bonneville kits. I can't attest to how accurate the '62 Catalina chassis is for the '65 Pontiacs, but it is close enough for the '64, so it shouldn't be far off for the '65. The '62 Catalina chassis seems to fit quite well in the Grand Prix body, but as with the '64 Grand Prix, if anything, it's a tiny bit too long. Wheel base is good, but I had to trim back the inner front fenders and frame behind the front wheel to assure that they would not protrude into the wheel opening. If the '65 Bonneville is anything like the '64, it appears that the '62 frame may require a very minimal stretch to fit as far as wheel base goes. To save some work, it might be just as easy to move the rear suspension back just a hair. I don't think it is going to take much. Your biggest issue is going to be the fact that the Catalina kit has the interior floor detail molded to the chassis plate and the transmission tunnel is very large. This requires that some fairly extensive surgery be done to get the chassis, interior tub and body to go together properly. You can go take a look at my "1964 Pontiac Grand Prix" thread in the On the Bench section to see how I chose to tackle this issue In the meantime, here are a couple of photos of the '62 Catalina frame installed in the '65 Grand Prix and Bonneville bodies just to give you an overall feel of what you're dealing with.   6. I love embossing powder for carpet as well, but flocking does have it's uses. You should be able to find either one at one of the larger craft/fabric stores, and if not, definitely on line from Amazon or Ebay. Steve

  8. Well, For those who are not happy with the execution of, and the extras in this kit, I will just leave this observation for thought. What fire department would have spent the money on a top of the line, 2 door hard top, 454 ci, 4 speed, bucket seat, Impala for their fire chief in the first place? I think we can probably agree that the concept is fairly ridiculous anyway, and any real fire chief car would have most likely been a Biscayne 4 door sedan or wagon with a 283. Steve

  10. Well, I suppose it was a forgone conclusion, but the NNL North show in Bloomington Minnesota has been rescheduled from May 17th, to November 1st, 2020. Too bad. Was looking forward to something "normal" this spring. Steve

  12. I do not. I am just trying to help a member of the forum who has a Revell kit with a missing hood, and was curious as to whether anyone had yet attempted the switch. I have a Johan kit, but never a Revell. I will ask the member to measure the hood opening. Steve

  14. I'll have to research that Keith. Work continues. I decided that while I was in the process of scribing various aspects of the vehicle, I could just as well take a few minutes and scribe some window channels into the roof. I then began the task of adding some head liner and interior window trim to the inside of the top. I did a little of this after the fact on my '68 Olds project, so I decided that it would be infinitely easier to do it before paint if I was going to do it. I'm going to do it! Steve
  15. Can anybody tell me if the Johan 1962 Dart hood will fit the Revell kit? If anybody has both kits, a couple of photos would be terrific! Steve
  16. This is one of those little things that has bothered me from time to time, so while I was in the process of scribing, I thought why not scribe in some window channel grooves in the top? I thought it might add one of those "not so obvious", but worth while details. It only took a few minutes, so what the heck. Steve

  19. Isn't that going a little over board? I could just as easily call you arrogant for suggesting that the rest of us are so stupid that we can't figure out how to deal with a problem like this. The point is that this is NOT our problem. It's the problem of the board administrators who need to keep the site accessible maneuverable and readable for anyone who wishes to come here whether they are a member or a looker and whether they have an add blocker or not. I don't need an add blocker for the hundreds of other sites that I visit. I'm not going to install one for one site. Please don't put this on the members. It's not our responsibility to fix an obvious board problem that NEEDS to be fixed. Steve
