  1. yes it should. The double axle was just for the racers wedge body, the camper is standard single axle wheelbase.
  2. Thanks for posting Casey, I ordered one of these last night. The wedge bed will likely end up on a different truck, not sure yet.
  3. Glad you have been able to get back to building, that looks fantastic! Great details and accurate suspension.
  4. To be fair, the magazine title is FINE SCALE MODELER, so to see figures, automotive and military models in it is what I would expect. It's my hope that they add more automotive coverage to it and I know they are working on it, but I don't expect to see them have endless pages of features any time soon.
  5. That is nice, looks great with the container on it!
  6. The OP is the maker of the resin body, he mentions it in the first post. He is working with some others to bring these to market.
  7. Modelroundup has Tamiya sprays at what seem to be reasonable prices. I did not see the TS-84, but they had TS-83 for $19.99. Sounds like the paint is used on smaller pieces and parts and not a whole body, so hopefully it will last longer.
  8. That looks killer and the black wheels & stance make it look MEAN. Nice work so far!
  9. The easiest way is to use the 84 GMC pickup kit Deserter as the chassis donor. Here's a picture of a Burban sitting on the chassis, sorry for the bad lighting, but the wheel base matches up. The beauty of the donor kit is that you can build it stock height with regular tires and wheels or you can jack it up and use the big wheels and tires from the kit.
  10. Which means they will be marked up and on eBay before you know it.
  11. Incredible work, attention to detail is outstanding and this will be a beauty when done. Your skills are enviable!
  12. From what has been written, they aren't accepting orders and have refunded previous orders. Not sure what is going on with them, I do know from talking with other resin casters that they have been swamped with orders and with most of them being small operations, many just a one person business, it can get overwhelming. We have seen some go out of business as a result of the demand of time required to run these businesses. A lot of work goes into making molds and casting parts, much more than any article in a magazine lets on!
  13. I'd think that there is a big difference in featuring your build on the cover and having a few sentences about it inside the magazine versus researching and writing an actual article for the magazine. From what I have been told, the monetary pay varies and depends on the article length and complexity. Some of the people I know who have written articles over the years for various types of publications say it's a nice way to earn some extra bucks but by no means is their sole form of income. With the decline in the number of printed magazines, I suspect that the pay hasn't increased and may have actually decreased, not sure.
  14. It's a 50 year old tool and had fit issues during previous releases so no surprise that they are still prevalent. The wheels can be replaced with aftermarket options, a master cylinder can be made if one cannot find a spare.
  15. Just now saw this, any chance anyone has pictures to share?
  16. Thanks guys, I was hoping his body was going to get cast, might have to create my own now.
  17. Having seen Scott's work in person, I can tell you the pictures don't do the models justice. His attention to detail and craftsmanship is something to envy and wish I had the patience to do half the quality he does! A very humble person, doesn't draw attention to himself and a nice guy to boot! Great work as usual Scott, that simple snap together Raptor was fun to watch come together! Keep on building!
  18. Nice work, love the side trim and two tone. Very clean and detailed!
  19. If I remember correctly, when Kalmbach made the decision to fold the SA portion into FSM, they mentioned they planned to do several "special issues" focusing on automotive related subjects to keep their hand in the car modeling community. They also said they would be including more car and truck coverage in the FSM issues and now that they have probably cycled through the issues of FSM that had already been formatted/prepared when the announcement was made back in July, I am hopeful that is the case and my subscription to FSM delivers content of my interest. Should they NOT increase the car model coverage in the magazine, I will let my subscription run out and let them suffer as a result. For many reasons, companies "abandon" us- The Modelhaus retired, Rookie Resin closed down due to family issues, Testors discontinued a paint line, the list goes on and on. For us as a group to find fault with their decision is wrong because we aren't privy to the whole story. Much like the storied history of MCM, the issues that have plagued the magazine over the years have been documented but we all haven't been privy to both sides of the situation and have to take what has been shared as the reasons why it has had not been published as frequently as many would have wanted/expected/hoped. Our hobby saw a resurgence this past year due to a pandemic and when things get back to whatever "normal" is, I hope that those that got back in the hobby stay around because we need all the support to keep it going. If you see something from a small business like a resin caster, buy it today because tomorrow may come and they could be gone.
  20. Given the fact that there were few, if any model cars shows in 2020 makes the likelihood of any contest issue a moot point.
  21. Has anyone heard from Jeffs396- Jeff Salem lately? I see his last time here was April 18, 2020 and when I went to his off road forum I didn't see much recent activity. He had been working on a Jeep CJ-8 Scrambler body and chassis and was wondering if he had ever got it to the point of casting? I have been toying with the idea of creating my own CJ-8 (and possibly CJ-6) but didn't want to start cutting up bodies if he was already well on his way with creating his.
  22. Bill, as someone who has purchased your products, I am sad to hear of your closing of the business. I fully understand the reasoning and I can imagine the pressure you were under to get orders processed. I know in talking with a few other resin casters while placing orders they have seen a HUGE increase in business this year and I am sure the pandemic was the reason for it. If you do decide to return in the future, I would suggest that maybe you do so on a smaller scale- fewer items or easy to cast / produce so that you can balance work/family/hobby. Most of us had no problem placing an order with The Modelhaus and waiting 6-8 weeks (or a year once they announced their retirement!) because they told us it would be that long and if I were to go into the resin casting / 3D printing business, I would use the same 6-8 week lead time. Enjoy the free time and be sure to check back in here!
  23. In all fairness, when MCM published a magazine after several years of not publishing, very little complaining went on about the content being of contests from the previous 2 years that had already been seen by the majority of people in this hobby. My point is that we can speculate what the content will be or we can wait patiently until late April and actually see what they publish. The contributors that worked on that magazine may not be at liberty to discuss what is actually in it. For those of you upset over the abrupt end of SA ( I was one!), gotta figure they had their business decision to do so and while they could have given us more time, it wouldn't have changed the fact they needed to do something to stay in business. If we viewed every hobby related business that ceases operations as "screwing" us over, there's a lot of great businesses that fall into that category.
  24. Kinda like other magazines do from time to time, right? I mean I have seen the same M.O. from many other publications without as much complaining. The fact that Tim Boyd is contributing to the special issue and has stated that it is (to his knowledge) all new material should tell us something about this magazine, no? I ,for one, look forward to this issue as I see it as a means to learn more about the car modeling hobby.
  25. You might want to check with Joseph at Fireball, he may be able to scale a tire to 1/8 for you to have 3D printed. From there you might be able to either have a bunch made or use one of them for a resin master.
