  1. I bought two kits at $100 each when they announced they were closing. Waited a year for them and struggled to decide how to build them. I sold one to a fellow modeler for what I paid for it because he is a good model friend who I knew would build it. The other one is still sitting on the shelf, but I think I know what I will finally do with it. I am sure what we are seeing on eBay is the result of someone who loaded up and is now cashing in.
  2. I resisted the urge to buy on eBay but Iceman only sells there, so I finally caved in. I just placed my third order with him as the first two orders arrived in less than 4 days from placing the order, something almost unheard of in the model aftermarket world. In regards to his process and the finish on the parts, yes, some work may be required, but it's not like some resin blobs from some suppliers. The very nature of 3D printing will have some finish issues, but I have seen the same with injection molded plastic kits too. As was mentioned, Iceman brings us stuff not seen or likely to be seen so one must decide if they want his product or not. Minor clean up and polishing is not a big deal to me, but then I don't build contest winning models so maybe I am different from the rest of the crowd.
  3. I have a couple of these planned- one like yours and another as a stock Civil Defense unit. Nice job, great details!
  4. Got my Covid shot today, it was the J&J dose that is a one shot vaccine. 5 hours in and no problems, not even a sore arm. Some have said the second day is when it hits you, we'll see come tomorrow morning!
  5. Had my annual review with my boss today. Our fiscal year runs April - March so that explains why it was done in April. I knew that we had a challenging year and despite the hurdles our group did a remarkable job in achieving the sales total we did. Was not expecting much in the review and raise department as we did not get raises last year but imagine my surprise when I got a raise that is basically equal to what I got the first two years combined with this company! Yes, hard work does get recognized and rewarded. Now my model budget can get a raise too!
  6. I'll get some pictures up later today but I found an alternative source for some of these same parts- Iceman Collections. He sells exclusively on eBay so I was forced to finally make my way to it and I have to say, his product and service is top notch. He updates his store on Saturdays so be sure to check out his offering. He has a lot of stuff- figures, engines, diorama parts, even the welder like the one on the Bolide site. Buy with confidence and you won't be disappointed.
  7. That looks fantastic, saw the in progress pictures but the finished product is outstanding!
  8. That is very nice, love the color and the details make it pop.
  9. Probably depends on how fast they get the ships unloaded in Long Beach.
  10. Best prices I have found on Tamiya paints, they have a wide selection and great service.
  11. There was an article in one of the last issues of Scale Auto detailing the Revell paint line. Maybe the folks at MCM will do a similar story now that the magazine is back in production. They could also do an article about Tamiya's new line of paints as well.
  12. P&P Resin once offered a cab like that, not sure they still cast and sell. They have a Facebook page, that cab was on there 8 years ago.
  13. Funny, I bought two kits when they announced their retirement with the intention of building them both. Ended up selling one of the kits to a fellow modeler because I knew he would build it, and he did. I still have the other and have wondered about selling it, but will likely build it as it would look great for what I have planned. I am sure there were many speculators who placed large orders with the sole intention of selling them later on eBay for insane money.
  14. Ironic that I see this post as I was on their website and thinking about ordering. I have a few things I was thinking of ordering but was waiting to see if someone else has/had and what their impression is/was.
  15. Yep, with the optional soft top. The full door kit is being reissued this year, you would have to cut the roof off to replicate the one in the picture.
  16. Well, I would think you could call them on it and get a refund.
  17. In addition to kits being 40% off this week, they are also giving free basic shipping to orders over $50, so if you want to see if what you are looking that the store may be out of, check out the selection online and maybe they have it there.
  18. I'm sure we will Scott, and without hesitation!
  19. Needed some Tamiya paint, found it at Hobbylinc. Great prices and service. The pickup was a bonus!
  20. So, to add to my earlier post, I got the kit from Scott on Monday. Opened it up and as I went through the kit, discovered he forgot to include the glass. To be fair, it was a hectic week for him last week and he simply forgot to check and make sure it was there. I shot him a note and he responded in minutes, apologizing profusely and said I could keep the kit, he would return the kit I sent him AND he would include my shipping costs. I explained that was not necessary, if he had the glass for the kit to just ship it to me and I was good. He found the glass, offered to send an extra and again apologized. I should have the glass this weekend and all will be well. In this day and age of people trading on the internet and hearing all the horror stories, it is nice to deal with someone who is honest and is true to his word about making it right.
  21. That truck is a nice kit, begs to be done as glue kit with engine and full chassis detail. Lots of great examples here to get inspiration from.
