  1. Just now saw this, any chance anyone has pictures to share?
  2. Thanks guys, I was hoping his body was going to get cast, might have to create my own now.
  3. Having seen Scott's work in person, I can tell you the pictures don't do the models justice. His attention to detail and craftsmanship is something to envy and wish I had the patience to do half the quality he does! A very humble person, doesn't draw attention to himself and a nice guy to boot! Great work as usual Scott, that simple snap together Raptor was fun to watch come together! Keep on building!
  4. Nice work, love the side trim and two tone. Very clean and detailed!
  5. If I remember correctly, when Kalmbach made the decision to fold the SA portion into FSM, they mentioned they planned to do several "special issues" focusing on automotive related subjects to keep their hand in the car modeling community. They also said they would be including more car and truck coverage in the FSM issues and now that they have probably cycled through the issues of FSM that had already been formatted/prepared when the announcement was made back in July, I am hopeful that is the case and my subscription to FSM delivers content of my interest. Should they NOT increase the car model coverage in the magazine, I will let my subscription run out and let them suffer as a result. For many reasons, companies "abandon" us- The Modelhaus retired, Rookie Resin closed down due to family issues, Testors discontinued a paint line, the list goes on and on. For us as a group to find fault with their decision is wrong because we aren't privy to the whole story. Much like the storied history of MCM, the issues that have plagued the magazine over the years have been documented but we all haven't been privy to both sides of the situation and have to take what has been shared as the reasons why it has had not been published as frequently as many would have wanted/expected/hoped. Our hobby saw a resurgence this past year due to a pandemic and when things get back to whatever "normal" is, I hope that those that got back in the hobby stay around because we need all the support to keep it going. If you see something from a small business like a resin caster, buy it today because tomorrow may come and they could be gone.
  6. Given the fact that there were few, if any model cars shows in 2020 makes the likelihood of any contest issue a moot point.
  7. Has anyone heard from Jeffs396- Jeff Salem lately? I see his last time here was April 18, 2020 and when I went to his off road forum I didn't see much recent activity. He had been working on a Jeep CJ-8 Scrambler body and chassis and was wondering if he had ever got it to the point of casting? I have been toying with the idea of creating my own CJ-8 (and possibly CJ-6) but didn't want to start cutting up bodies if he was already well on his way with creating his.
  8. Bill, as someone who has purchased your products, I am sad to hear of your closing of the business. I fully understand the reasoning and I can imagine the pressure you were under to get orders processed. I know in talking with a few other resin casters while placing orders they have seen a HUGE increase in business this year and I am sure the pandemic was the reason for it. If you do decide to return in the future, I would suggest that maybe you do so on a smaller scale- fewer items or easy to cast / produce so that you can balance work/family/hobby. Most of us had no problem placing an order with The Modelhaus and waiting 6-8 weeks (or a year once they announced their retirement!) because they told us it would be that long and if I were to go into the resin casting / 3D printing business, I would use the same 6-8 week lead time. Enjoy the free time and be sure to check back in here!
  9. In all fairness, when MCM published a magazine after several years of not publishing, very little complaining went on about the content being of contests from the previous 2 years that had already been seen by the majority of people in this hobby. My point is that we can speculate what the content will be or we can wait patiently until late April and actually see what they publish. The contributors that worked on that magazine may not be at liberty to discuss what is actually in it. For those of you upset over the abrupt end of SA ( I was one!), gotta figure they had their business decision to do so and while they could have given us more time, it wouldn't have changed the fact they needed to do something to stay in business. If we viewed every hobby related business that ceases operations as "screwing" us over, there's a lot of great businesses that fall into that category.
  10. Kinda like other magazines do from time to time, right? I mean I have seen the same M.O. from many other publications without as much complaining. The fact that Tim Boyd is contributing to the special issue and has stated that it is (to his knowledge) all new material should tell us something about this magazine, no? I ,for one, look forward to this issue as I see it as a means to learn more about the car modeling hobby.
  11. You might want to check with Joseph at Fireball, he may be able to scale a tire to 1/8 for you to have 3D printed. From there you might be able to either have a bunch made or use one of them for a resin master.
  12. Wasn't able to grab the relaunch issue, hoping to be able to get it some other way. Any word on when the next issue will be out? Any teasers on what the content may be?
  13. That is a sweet front end conversion, love the look and very nicely executed with clean details.
  14. I think you mean Model Cars Magazine Pete? Maybe the non-payment is true, maybe not. Wouldn't be the first time something went wrong, things happen, maybe someone from the magazine can explain and as Paul Harvey would say...here's the rest of the story.
  15. Moebius offered 5 different Ford Pickup kits with the shorter wheelbase. They are all readily available and would be much easier than shortening frames and beds. They are: 1965 Stepside 1966 Fleetside 1969 Fleetside 1970 Fleetside 1972 Fleetside As Mark mentioned, maybe swapping parts or a kit would be the easier way to go.

  17. I got this two weeks ago, haven't used it yet but will soon. I lined it with parchment paper but will be switching over to white kraft paper as it's much cheaper. This unit took all of 5 minutes to unpack and attach the blower motor. The way it was packed in the cardboard box was very impressive, no chance of being damaged. It's the Pace 24" mini plus.
  18. Coming along nicely, looks like a real service truck.
  19. That looks great, but I swear I've seen that somewhere before....if I could only remember where!
  20. I'll be watching this. Have always wished AMT would have issued this wrecker in 1/25 scale instead of the 1/43 they chose instead.
  21. So Santa came early for me and I got my Pace booth earlier this week. I will be off to Home Depot for some duct work and to find an inexpensive LED light for it. I bought some white craft paper today at Hobby Lobby and some magnets too. My plan is to use the craft paper as a liner for the booth to keep it from getting all covered in paint, I'll use the magnets to hold the paper in place. A 100 foot roll is $9.99 and I figure I can get about 20 pieces out of that roll, so for $.50 a piece, I'll be able to keep my booth looking nice. My other concern is whether or not it will pull a lot of dust onto the models so I am thinking about making a cover that can go on with magnets. Anyone have any thoughts on it?
  22. Better hurry up, looks like that could be put to use TODAY! Nice scratch building and the details look great.
  23. That is outstanding work, as usual and the detailed pump panel looks like the real thing. Your skills are amazing!
  24. More than likely it was found in the back corner of the mail delivery vehicle.
  25. Recently did a trade with 70 Grande and everything went smooth on my shipment to him, he got it in 3 days. His shipment to me didn't arrive and after three weeks, he offered to send me money to cover the cost of what I sent him. And wouldn't you know, the following day after he sent me money via Pay Pal, his package finally arrived! I tried to send the money back to him and he wouldn't have it! Insisted that I hold on to it, needless to say he has a "credit" with me. Glad to know that there are some of those people left that have integrity and want to make good on a deals, even if it is little plastic parts. I would trade again with him, without any hesitation!
