  1. The Chevy LUV used a 1.8 Liter engine thru 1981. The 1.8 is visually different than the Chevette engines.
  2. With the upcoming release of the Racers Wedge and next year's arrival of the pickup reissue, if someone were to offer a resin tub with a bench seat they would probably sell a few.
  3. As Greg pointed out, get the engine and trans out of the AMT Blazer kit and you will have the small block and truck 4 speed set up.
  4. Had a vole problem earlier this year, found some granular product at Home Depot that after 5 days of spreading and watering the affected areas, they appeared to be gone. Tried using a grub killer product to kill off their food supply to no avail. My issue this year was the lawn service that aerated and fertilized my lawn last fall and put down the wrong seed.
  5. FINALLY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Nice job, perfect amount of detailing and weathering. That fifth wheel looks real!
  7. I'm in for an S-10, wish it wasn't a reboxed Syclone. If the aftermarket can make some grilles for it, I can see a few more to replicate the three 1:1 S-10's I owned.
  8. I don't believe the short bed was an option on the 35 series (1 ton). Awesome work on that kit, you have detailed it beyond what most of us would do. It amazes me when an European builder takes a kit of a US vehicle and goes all out detailing it and making it look so realistic.
  9. Thanks Dave, gives a bit more clarity to what is happening and answers my (and probably many others) questions on what is happening. Long road for sure, hope to see something soon.
  10. I guess I am just curious as Gregg mentioned that he had several issues to print and has only printed the contest issue last year. With the demise of SA, I think I am like many others who are looking for a print magazine to fill the void. I do not have a subscription, I haven't for years, due to the erratic release of magazines but if somehow it can be back to a regular schedule I would consider it. You may consider it stirring the pot, I look at it as just asking a question about a previous statement made by someone affiliated with the magazine.
  11. So, still no answer to my question of "Gregg said he had several issues ready to go last year" but we get a bunch of talk about all the hard work that is going on? Why not print the issues that were already done and ready for print?
  12. Just a couple of random observations... 1. Last year Gregg said he had several issues "ready to go" and he got one printed, any idea of when the others might be out? 2. Larry announced 6 weeks ago the "relaunch" and work that was going on, but haven't heard anything since. Any thing new to share Larry? 3. Given the demise of SA, any hints of what he "new" MCM will be like?
  13. I'm guessing that is 8,800 Yen for shipping. Someone forgot to do the conversion, but it still works out to $83.72, a bit excessive.
  14. UPDATE- Placed my order on Thursday night, it shipped Friday afternoon, one box from California, one from Illinois. The Illinois box arrived today, the California box is scheduled for tomorrow. The Illinois box got hung up in Indianapolis and delayed a couple of days, usually get my orders within 3 business days. With the free shipping and discount, it was a good deal. The free shipping runs through Oct 14.
  15. Sweet looking ride, love how you married the old school look with the modern drivetrain.
  16. I used 01A15, pretty much every time I order at least $50. The free shipping was icing on the cake!
  17. Took advantage of this offer again this past week, free shipping and $15 off of a $50 order made for some nice savings!
  18. I am going to wait and see what they end up doing. I will give them a few issues to get their bearings and figure out how it will all work together. It is quite possible that FSM will be expanded to accommodate the additional automotive coverage, placating the military modelers and giving us automotive modelers enough to stay interested. MCM is going to have to produce something other than a contest issue to generate any excitement about a revival, the recent shows have been covered either online or by SA.
  19. I get your skepticism of what the new FSM/SA magazine will look like, but I have confidence that a blended magazine may appeal to more modelers and will be better in the long run. There has been talk of resurrecting MCM for a while now and it will be a Herculean effort to accomplish that.
  20. Nice work so far, it builds up very nice. I drove a couple of Uni's back in the early 80's when I worked at the M-B dealership, they were a blast, could go through anything!
  21. X2! Plus, how much longer before the short bed and chassis are ready, would love one of those too. Knowing Greg Wann is involved means a lot, he does some great work!
  22. Another work of art! I have relatives that live near the Pierce factory in Wisconsin, whenever we visit them we can see the fire truck factory from the highway, some impressive machines in that lot. Great details and will be watching this one come to life.
  23. Right as hobbies have made a comeback during a pandemic and maybe brought some more people to model building? Their model section gets smaller as they bring in new stuff to sell along side of model kits. Five years ago you didn't have the tools and supplies that exist now at Hobby Lobby, things like Evergreen sheet, all of the different small tools and airbrush accessories and paints. Yes, they will have to do something about the Testors paints but I am guessing they will just carry whatever Testors offers, maybe they will add the Revell paints.
