  1. I worked at a Mercedes dealership in Chicago from 80-83 and we had one of these as a shop truck. Pulled cars in from the back lot, ran errands around town, plowed snow with it, and generally it was abused by a bunch of teen aged shop employees. Never got a speeding ticket but it ran well for it's intended purpose. Would love to see this kit comeback but as stated in Chuck's article, likely not gonna happen. Wouldn't it be something if Revell still had the tooling and did run it, after seeing the longer WB model sell well? One can hope!
  2. And they also sell a resin 6 cylinder engine, so kinda one stop shopping for your conversion needs!
  3. Love the color and that bed came out very nice.
  4. Maybe throw a Foose chassis under it? If you go the 4x4 route, be sure to get a F-250 conversion kit from Joseph at Fireball Modelworks. Sure would be nice to see that series of trucks available in kit form.
  5. Please elaborate. I see some flaws, specifically with the doors and roofline.
  6. Fireball Modelworks has a set of 14" steel wheels and dog dish hub caps for a Camaro, not sure how different the Camaro caps are from the Impala. Worth checking out.
  7. I just got my new issue yesterday- shipped in a plain white envelope that wasn't mangled by the USPS. The subscription price is $29.95 for 6 issues per year (sound familiar?). I also get an email letting me know I can view the digital version before I get the printed version. The subscription also lets me view back issues.
  8. Just wondering if anyone else subscribes to CARtoons? I saw it was back and have been getting the magazine for a couple of issues now, brings me back to my youth and when times were simpler.
  9. Very nice, love the color and details. Clean and well built!
  10. Just a guess, but I would have to say that some don't believe that you are actually a female, based upon previous experiences of similar posters.
  11. Might be something for the 3D printer guys to consider.
  12. This is the best way to duplicate the truck if that is what you are wanting to do. If you are trying to get close, then the Moebius bed will do.
  13. I was in one in SC earlier this month, about 5 days after it reopened. One of the clerks said that they hadn't had any replenishment stock since the week before they closed and the warehouse was working on getting orders picked and ready to ship. IIRC, they ship out of Oklahoma City, so it takes a while to get stuff moved around. Add in that a lot of what they sell comes from China and off shore and it may be a month or two before they have made up for missing shipments.
  14. Interesting, first Yenko I have seen with the RS package. I have several friends who own/owned genuine 1:1 69 Yenko Camaros and they were basic cars.
  15. Late Jun is the word on the Tower Hobbies website. Likely early July as they tend to be a week or two off with their estimates.
  16. Those and the school bus races were always fun to watch.
  17. MPC/AMT used those tires in a lot of kits, the most recent one would probably be the Dukes of Hazzard Daisy Jeep.
  18. I am building a 72 K10 pickup using the Deserter chassis and an old AMT 72 pickup kit cab and resin shortbed. They fit almost like they were designed for each other. I suggest if you build a 67-72 GM Pickup, cut the inner fenders out of the AMT pickup as the ones in the Deserter are correct.
  19. Revell's replacement parts service has been temporarily suspended due to the pandemic.
  20. I know what you are inferring, but the point is that Revell chooses to offer a kit of a subject matter identical to the Tamiya kit and it gets a pass while the Tamiya kit is crucified. Similar enough that both are considered models in the eyes of most hobbyists.
  21. So, based on this logic, the Revell snap kit versions of the Mustang are incomplete? Why not call out Revell over their lack of a full detail kit WITH AN ENGINE ? Why is it that Tamiya brings out a kit that accurately represents a race car and has a lot of detail sans engine and you blast them, but give Revell a pass for a very simple snap kit of the same vehicle? Both companies sell their products worldwide so it stands to reason they are trying to reach similar consumers, no?
  22. That is nice, like the colors. ZForce Modelworkx has the correct bumper available in 3D resin.
  23. I remember that kit and the body seemed to be a bit more boxier than the 1:1 was, not sure it would be worth searching for as it probably is big $$
  24. Nice car, very sinister looking in all black. Is this the car you have talked about before, the one with some mods and crazy high speed runs?
