In as much as I don't have a subscription nor is there any place to pick up a copy, has the next issue of MCM come out? I know there was one back in December and I thought Gregg mentioned he had another one just about ready, so hopefully it won't be long. Really wish it was available in digital format, that is how I read mags now, less stuff to recycle and don't have to worry about the PO mangling it. TIA for any updates.

Revell Bronco Baja Kit
mikemodeler replied to Hawk5.0's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
That is the great thing about Joseph, he lets you know the delay instead of keeping you wondering or casting inferior products and have you feel ripped off. I have spent a good amount of money with him and have an order in now but have no doubts it will be exactly what I am looking for when it shows up! -

Revell Bronco Baja Kit

You will be very happy with the Fireball products, unbelievable accuracy and detail in every thing he offers. If you decide to build one of those with a half cab, check out Olson Bros, they have some old Bronco stuff too! -
Hobby Lobby downsizing?
mikemodeler replied to Gizzy's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Could be many different reasons, but the best answer would be from someone who works there. They could be getting ready for a reset, waiting for a shipment, moving the aisle, the list goes on. -

Looks great! I am working on one using the Olson Bros. resin body for an older Commando. -
That there could get me to buy one of these, that car just looks freaking awesome to me!

Should be interesting to hear what they have up their sleeves. We had been told the tooling for the 70's Dodge longbed pickup was beyond repair and we wouldn't see that kit again. Last year, they bring it out and it sells like crazy. I suspect that they have seen that type of success and started digging through whatever else they have that could be gold. New kits? Yeah, those can be expensive to tool up but with the right subject matter, it can make sense, look at what Moebius has done with the Ford pickups.

I'm in! Would love to have that LUV and Elky and if that Jeep is a stock kit, count me as a buyer.

Well, this has been a long, long week.......
mikemodeler replied to Joe Handley's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
So sorry for your loss Joe, our Moms are special to us and losing them hurts a lot. Take solace in knowing she is not suffering anymore and is pain free. Be there for your family, especially your Dad, as the coming days, weeks and months will be difficult for all of you. May God bless you all. -
Looking for 8-hole rims
mikemodeler replied to Dave Toups's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I'd contact Danny and see if he has them on the drawing board, you never know what he is cooking up! -
I ordered this kit and some other goodies on January 14 and I received notice this morning that my package will be delivered today. 9 days from order to delivery, outstanding service in my eyes. Danny and his products are really good, but his customer service is a step above most others. It's things like this that have made me a repeat customer and hope that other resin companies follow suit. So many times we hear about the ones that don't give good service.

Check out Scenes Unlimited, Danny has added a lot of truck wheels and tires recently, I think he has what you are looking for. Great product and service. -
Most realistic way of making autu glass??????????
mikemodeler replied to doorslammer68's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
A lot of great answers here on how to form compound pieces, but I have a resin Suburban that need to make side and rear windows for. They will be flat, rectangular pieces that I will glue in either from the inside or outside, depending on how well I can trim them to fit. My question is- will regular .010 evergreen flat clear sheet work okay? I will walk the aisles at Hobby Lobby and see if they have something else that can be used as well.- 19 replies

Where to go sell off some of my kits?
mikemodeler replied to Pete J.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
A lot of great advice and I agree that if you have some desirable kits, eBay is the way to go. Be prepared to answer questions from bidders and spend time boxing stuff up and going to the post office. You might want to see if there are any shows coming to your area and get a table to sell there. I have moved some larger quantities of kits at shows because people come looking for deals and sometimes other vendors will buy your collection on the spot. Best of luck. Make sure you educate your family on what your collection is worth so when the day comes, they don't drop them off at Goodwill or sell them at a garage sale for $1 a piece. -
1/25 Jeep Gladiator
mikemodeler replied to Casey's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Dang, just like the CJ-8 Scrambler body someone was working on, a great project stalls. If I had the time and inclination to do this justice, I would scoop it up, but I struggle to get snap tite models done these days. Sure hope someone picks up where Casey is leaving this and brings it to completion. -
The difficulty in resin casting is part of the reason for it's perceived higher cost. There was a time when buying resin was out of reach for me and I missed out on some stuff I really wanted. The advent of 3D printing has helped drive down the development costs of resin pieces and kits, so hopefully whatever you are looking for will become affordable. I know many modelers were hoping someone would take over for Don and Carol but so far no one has done so. I know that I was fortunate enough to order some things as they were retiring, as did many others, and look at guys like Norm at RMCO and hope they hang around long enough for me to get another order in .
