  1. Check with Casey here on the forum, he might have something.
  2. The media is feeding into the hysteria and some are choosing to make it political by calling out the President. Not sure what could have been different as the information from China where this originated was suspect and sketchy from the beginning.
  3. This is the real issue I have. The flu kills thousands every year with barely a mention on the evening news, but this Coronavirus has driven people to extremes by hoarding basic items that the rest of us need to help fight through this. Ask yourself "If I have all the sanitizing products, what are others going to use?" So don't be an idiot, leave some for the next guy.
  4. To sum up this post, I think it is safe to say that: A. The Canadians pay more for this hobby than us Americans do. B. You can spend as little or as much as your heart and wallet allow. C. There are other hobbies that are more expensive. D. It's not gonna get any cheaper.
  5. If you are finding this hobby to be too expensive, then you are right in getting out of it. It isn't going to get any cheaper and if you can hardly afford to build now, I doubt you will in the future. You would be doing yourself a favor by getting out now instead of hanging around and complaining about the costs, knowing it won't improve. I have yet to find those $2.49 model kits I used to buy with my allowance back in 1972, but I sure am having fun building nearly 50 years later, despite the increased costs.
  6. Sadly, no pictures. But I do remember that they had a fleet of these painted that yellow color and depending on the department, had different markings and warning lights on them. They were all base models, steel wheels and no chrome bumpers or mirrors.
  7. So Gregg gave us insight to his next back surgeries and I was just wondering if he has undergone them yet? They sounded pretty invasive and delicate, wondering how they went. It sure will be nice for him to get his life back and hopefully he can get back to "normal".
  8. That Nova kit is a nice one, but I am sure I have plenty to last awhile!
  9. So go for it! At the worst, you get emails about car models, at best, maybe a free kit!
  10. Sadly this is the case for many of us. Living in Charlotte NC, we only have HL and Michael's. I spend where I have to get to what I want/need. Online, shows, and trades is how I get most of what I want/need. The coupons at HL & Michael's are nice, if it's what I am looking for.
  11. That looks perfect! The county I grew up in had those as work vehicles for road projects and also special need student transports.
  12. That looks great! Love the details and the color choices.
  13. Looks great! Like how you used parts to get the look .
  14. That should prove to be difficult as they shared very little visually with any domestic 4 cylinder engine. Not sure if there are any Japanese kits that would have that Isuzu motor in it. The other difficult part is that the body has the molded flares and front spoiler, making it hard to build a stock body.
  15. So glad to see him walk out of the hospital less than two days after being rushed there with most of us fearing the worst. As far as his injuries, obviously they were serious enough for the team and family to not want to disclose them and I can appreciate that, In this instant information age, being afforded some privacy is the right thing to do. Whether he races again or not, that photo is two good reasons for him to do what he wants.
  16. Places like Wal-Mart will see a bigger impact than us model builders. They rely on China to stock their store with products so you can imagine if our precious model kits aren't being produced, there is a lot more important or higher selling items that aren't being made either. Can't imagine there are many on here who don't have a few kits to tide them over until things get back to normal.
  17. The tires in the Mojave Mule are the same Goodyear Trackers seen in the recent GMC Plow Truck . If I look through my junk box, I might be able to find a wheel or two and I think I still have the front bumper and tool box.
  18. I remember building the Mojave Mule and the Street Machine version back in the day. Didn't realize at the time just how basic these kits were but had fun nonetheless. I will pick up one of these, maybe two. Definitely will be swapping wheels and tires and if a correct engine could be found, that too!
  19. Let's hope one of the resin guys comes up with some stock parts for this (hint hint). I would love to have stock doors and hardtop. I am sure someone will have some wheels and tires.
  20. Any body know what is going on with the full bumper 70 Camaro? Modelroundup is now showing it as delayed and I had it and a couple of other kits on order waiting for it to arrive to ship my order.
  21. Not sure how well the Revell 66 Chevelle wagon actually sold to retail, but my guess is that R2 is likely looking at an existing tool that can be fixed cheaply and they can recover their costs in the pre-sell. That said, look for a Nova wagon as there are some who would build it as a drag car and others who might build it stock or slightly modified. With the recent Grumpy's Toy version, they have a nice small block and bench seat already to go, so maybe toss in a few extras and SHAZAM!
  22. Very nice, love the color choices and details.
  23. I'm with Espo, a light wash of black would give that grille the depth I think you were looking for. Nice restoration !
  24. Thanks. Sure wish he would update here, I don't get on FB as much as I used to, will have to search for it. I know that many members here aren't on FB as well.
