  1. Yes practice makes perfect! I will cut a piece of styrene the desired shape of the line and then tape it to the area you're working on. Gives you a little more edge to work with than tape that will certainly change lines while scribing. A real scribing tool is helpful and the slower you go the less likely to have a mishap.
  2. It's like styrene surgery...
  3. Nice styrene alterations, I'm pretty sure you can handle the wing!
  4. Pretty serious looking 32! Nice build
  5. Nice, I love saving old builds...
  6. Any updates, I just purchased this kit. Haven't even looked inside yet.
  7. I like where this is going....
  8. Never assume anything, never expect anything, you'll never be disappointed.
  9. Thanks, this is the kit top, I chopped it 3" scale inches and reshaped it to represent a Carson top.
  10. http://saberpoint.blogspot.com/2015/07/black-member-of-sons-of-confederate.html Ya'll don't know beans about history. This is a picture of Earl the mechanic that worked on all the cars while filming Dukes of Hazard, also known as the Chalie Daniels of the torque wrench.
  11. Not a traditional WIP post, more of a what’s on my bench today thread. This is the Revell kit and I picked it up as a glue bomb at a swap meet a few year ago. Stripped most of the chrome, reshaped the tail end and added 58 Corvette taillights. The front is restyled with a Parts Pack grill, reversed hood and minor body mods. I lowered it as far as possible without cutting the frame up and dropped a fuel injected 409 between the front wheels with a custom cover for looks. The interior is fully custom. I’m not settled on colors yet, but it will be fun.
  12. And now back to our regularly scheduled programing...
  13. Very nice kit and even better looking if you remove the mold seams before painting.
  14. This entire thread is racist!
  15. This should be fun to watch, nice mock up.
  16. Hi Carl, hope your well! Got any pictures of the afore mentioned project? Would love to see what you're working on. I spent a few years just buying glue bombs and re-building them and the best way I found to disassemble them was slowly and gently prying the parts until the let loose. Some solvents can be used but 9 out of 10 times the old glue did what it was designed to do, MELT plastic together. If it looks like the parts are going to break while working them apart, I would scribe a line that would allow them to come apart cleanly. Your hardest pieces will be the glass and taillights. And if something gets damaged beyond repair, I'll just bet someone here on the forum will help you out!
  17. Nice work here, looks like a great project...
  18. Either way it's a B.A. movie and your model is well done, detailed and weathered nicely. The wheels look great too!
  19. Real nice piece you have there, it's nice to see something different.
  20. Given to me by way of the widow of our good friend Al Auth, I'm honored to display it with my own collection.
