AMT kit, Tamiya maroon body, Testers tan/flesh interior, MT Olds power, Corvette bumpers, Caddy tail lights and Pegasus chrome wheels. Four inch chop just to see if I could!

You have my attention....

It’s just a Model Masters tan.

Thanks Guys, I'm pretty happy with it too. It's kind of funny but I'm trying to build on a budget and not purchasing any new supplies right now. Number one funds for models are a bit low, number two I have so much stuff. I'd love to use as much of it up before replacing it. Maybe some have felt the same? I'm going to try to get caught up on the few unfinished projects I have this winter hopefully I won't get distracted by new ones... Blessed Holidays!

Thx Bob, normally I wouldn't gouge the surface like this but this was a real glue bomb when I started. I guess the easiest answer would be I use a couple deferent sand papers. The courses being 220 and work up to a 400. Then I like to use an automotive filler primer lightly sprayed. I will sand that almost completely off and then start the process over again until I am satisficed. Usually there are spots that need more attention but I work on them individually just re-priming where needed. After that I'll wet sand the entire body and then prime it with Tamiya primer in very light coats. If you do this make the two primers are compatible. There's hundreds of ways of doing it but this works best for me.

Well that didn't take much...

Very cool project. I have built a Highboy from left overs from these kits.

Thanks Roger, I like how you solved the step molding issue on the rear window. I haven't decided yet but I may just leave that detail out all together. I'm leaning toward a curbside shelf model with a mild custom look, but ya just never know...

Interesting project you have there, I like it... -
I never was able to get that bench time I thought I would, bur life has slowed and Fall/Winter is approaching. I found enough time to clear the bench and finally get some filler primer on this Sedan. That solid gray, even as light as it is, really helps these tired eyes to see what areas need attention. I'm happy with the chop so far and will be smoothing things out and adding the scribe lines for the trunk. Also, I mocked up some Bumper'ettes too...

Very nice, I like the color!

I've built several of these kits over the years but never to this extent. That is a whole lot of detail in a very small space, well done!

Coming along nicely....

Looks like I will be working close to home in the near future, hope to get back at this one...

Nice, cleanly built Comet you have there.

I remember that one, nicely done!

Nicely done...

Good lighting is important when doing BMF, but I like to use non direct lighting so there is no glare. I also paint the top edge of my knife blade a color that stands out from the body paint, like for this black car I would use red at the tip of the blade.

Minibike chopper

Alclad is your friend! Nice minichopper too! -
Fitment! Cleaning things up little by little. The other fender assembly was cracked so I started another. Flush skirts are glued in place and I’m scribing in the connection point for definition. I’m somewhat surprised at pulling off this chop.
