  1. Sorry to hear of your loss, James.
  2. Merry Christmas to all!
  3. It took me a buttload of time but I finally got through those three big boxes and managed to find at least 95% of my essential tools, paints, and materials. Went out and bought a couple of those clear plastic storage trays and got my essential stuff organized into them. Maybe I can get in the habit of getting out only what I need and then putting it away at the end of a session or end of the day. That might work for both of us. Didn't get much Snake-Fu work done. I did pull three of the new diecasts apart so I could white-spot the lenses, then screwed 'em back together. Hopefully I can back to some real work in the next week. And I think I have my next kit project lined up--the reissued AMT '68 Corvette. Got two of 'em last week, wow, they are real Parts Mines. And the fact that this kit doesn't come close to building an accurate model of ANYTHING means I can just go crazy and have fun with it--just like I did when I was 14. Suddenly it's 1968!
  4. Sorry to hear of your loss, 30ford.
  5. That sounds familiar. Was that from Letterman? Here's another one from Letterman: "They pelted us with rocks and garbage."
  6. Sorry to hear of the loss of your friend, Ranma.
  7. I am positively moist with antici............pation!
  8. Yes. Also Fireball XL5.
  9. I'm thinking I MIGHT have a Crown '69 Cararo HT of some kind. If it's the one I'm thinking of, it's metallic gray not unlike my old 1:1 '69 Camaro. It might have six slots in the Rally wheels, too. I haven't Snake-Fu'ed it yet so it's not all that set in my mind.
  10. Thanks. That's all I needed to know.
  11. You could be right. I said it was a promo because the engine is molded as part of the chassis, but I'm not familiar enough with these kits to know if that's the way the kits were or not. Hood is molded solid with the body, too. ETA: I checked the instructions on the Drastic Plastic site and it looks like you're exactly right.
  12. Joe, I meant no offense. You post just got me curious about the price then and now. I apologize if I upset you. I certainly didn't mean to.
  13. What scale are they?
  14. I tried to google 1965 Flexible Flyer prices. All google wanted to tell me was the current day value of vintage Flexible Flyers. So I got creative and googled "vintage Flexible Flyer ad." Now we're getting somewhere! First one I clicked was a 1960 ad which had all sorts of models and legths listed from $10 to about $32. On to my favorite web inflation calculator, which only goes up to 2021. It told me: What cost $10 in 1960 would cost $94.80 in 2021. Suddenly $120 in 2022 dollars doesn't sound all that bad, does it?
  15. Saw it yesterday. I liked it A LOT and think it will be an instant classic. The first part was pretty cute, but IMHO just a little bit lame. But from the point where Ralph gets arrested, it picks up considerably. You know a happy ending is coming, but I wasn't expecting such a GREAT happy ending. And having seen both A Star Is Born and Devotion just before seeing this, I was REALLY in the mood for a REALLY happy ending. The entire production seemed to hold the original movie with very high respect (and rightly so). The movie wouldn't be complete with The Old Man, and even though Darren McGavin passed in 2006, The Old Man was still very much a part of this one. Well done! It was also a love letter to the memory of Jean Shepard, who wrote the stories which became the original Christmas Story movie. Nobody could tell a story like Jean Shepard, but this movie got darn close. (I'll expand on this more if anyone is really interested.) Overall rating: Very Most Way Excellent Snakeworthy. See it!
  16. I just never got into them as a kid--the puppets creeped me out for some reason. However, I absolutely LOVED Team America World Police, and it's very high on my "Top Ten Funniest Movies of All Time" list.
  17. Apparently, there is a LOT of "didn't get the memo" going around....
