I think the first time I ever saw her was in a Star Trek movie. I think that was even before Cheers. Then again, I'm officially Old now and might be misremembering things.

You actually have a dime less in yours than I have in mine. And yours is perfect. Dimmit!

Are you talking about here, or somewhere out in Real Life?

Looks great, except the Z/28 stripes (which are actually pretty well done) shouldn't be on an SS396. You might be able to remove them. Otherwise, nice model!

Very very sad news. I always liked her. Damn.

Local toy show yesterday, first one I've been to in 3 months. (Just hadn't been in the mood.) Got three 1/24 diecasts, all $10 each: 1. Maisto Dodge viper in dark green metallic 2. Maisto Lambo Diablo in purple 3. Ertl '63 Vette coupe in black with red interior. All are slightly "distressed" and in need of cleanup/Love. The Vette needs some of its paint touched up but should be easy--it's black and I've got a new Sharpie black oil paint marker. Only thing missing seems to be the right-side mirror on the Lambo, but I can just display the other side out. I'm getting close to getting in the mood to go out in the shed and try to find all my tools and paints and so-forth, which The Lovely Mrs. Snake unceremoniously stashed back there last spring when I had my stroke. Got about six new diecasts now that would make "Getting Back Into It" projects. Wish me luck.

Very nice! I'll have to keep my eyes open for one of these.

Sorry to hear this, Les. Been through something similar a couple times and it's not easy at all. May God Bless you and your friend.

I quote the prophet Elvis Costello: "Well I used to be disgusted, now I try to be amused...."

I love stories with a happy ending.

They also did all the music, and it's excellent--one of my favorite soundtracks.

The great John Vernon was in three of my alltime favorite movies--Dirty Harry, Animal House, and Josey Wales.

Robert Vaughn, Normal Fell, Simon Oakland and Justin Tarr (Rat Patrol) were all in Bullitt. Nathan Fillion and Ted Danson were both in Saving Private Ryan. John Ratzenberger (Cliff Claven) was in A Bridge Too Far. George Takei was in The Green Berets. Bob Newhart was in the Steve McQueen WWII movie Hell Is for Heroes. Bill Paxton played a street punk in The Terminator.

Thanks Mike. I'll check them out!

I've usually used Model Roundup for kits I can't find locally, but if I'm not mistaken, they're always MSRP. I'm currently looking for an online vendor with lower prices. Any suggestions?

I'm in for the Charger, Nomad, and '66 T-Bird. Looks like a good month!
-
Darn, Joe, that's some fine work right there. I'm hoping/planning to do pretty much the same thing to the new Charger when it appears, and will refer back to your work for inspiration. Model on!

Agree with you completely. VERY interesting premise and first 3/4 of the movie, but I felt like the ending let me down. I'm not sorry I watched it, but I'd have a hard time recommending it. Some great cars, though, including a '57 Nomad and some early T-Birds and Corvettes.

Round2/ AMT '55 Chevy Nomad Wagon Kit Coming in 2023
Snake45 replied to stavanzer's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Well, mission accomplished! Both the real car and your model pretty much epitomize the "feel" of the times. I'm planning to build something very similar in the near future. I'll be using your pictures for inspiration. Again, well done and model on! -
Got an email the other day offering me the streaming service Hulu for just $1.99 a month for a full year (normally $7.99/month). I'm already paying over $200 a month for cable TV and internet access and swore I wouldn't buy any more streaming services, but this is too good a deal to pass up--Now I can enjoy the whole series of Justified again, and I'm hoping they have NYPD Blue, too, as I'd like to see those again too. The offer is good until midnight tonight (November 28). If anyone else wants in, send me an email and I'll forward the offer to you. SnakeACP45 at aol dot com
