  1. That's pretty cool, thanks for sharing it!
  2. First thing to try is fresh masking tape. Sometimes that will pull it off. Then you might try Windex. Rubbing alcohol would probably remove it, but is likely to damage the Tamiya lacquer. TEST it somewhere first to see. I've heard of WD-40 and Goo Gone working but have never used them. Again, TEST them on the actual paint.
  3. Not keeping an eye on you specifically, it just hit me in this thread how so many people couldn't wait to scream ME! ME! ME! without even acknowledging the thread's star model. Yeah, we've seen it almost every day, and most of us have done it ourselves every now and then. It was just blatant in this thread for some reason.
  4. My post on this page might answer some of those questions:
  5. Well, I've painted at least one whole car with it, and plan to do at least one more, and plan to add black and brown into it to make a couple different shades of maroon. Monty, I wish I had an answer to your specific question, but I've never seen the stuff. I do notice Testor is renaming some things strangely lately. For example, I just bought a bottle of Model Master "Flat Chrome Silver," although it carries the same FS number as the regular Chrome Silver. Weird. I wonder if the Turn Signal Red is just something else relabled. On a related topic, I've become quite fond of the MM Acrylic "Clear Red Acryl." I hope that's available for a while.
  6. Thanks so much to both of you! I always wonder if anyone is reading my stuff, or just glance at the pics and move on.... Alexis, you are so right. How many of us even realize that a large part of why we do this is to recapture our youth/happier times?
  7. Not in this thread. There ya go. See, that's not so hard!
  8. I know you did, and I did NOT quote you in my post, just four who couldn't even be bothered to say "nice model." You did fine.
  9. My store had fairly full shelves, I think only one empty slot. So either they just didn't get the Impalas in yet, OR they got them in and sold out already. I'll try again next week. Meanwhile, I've been stocking up on Model Master enamels while I can still get them.
  10. I was thinking they were. I have one of these in the stash I hope to get to in the near future. Gonna do it "Day 2" too, unless I decide to swap in a tunnel-rammed BBC and turn it into a full-on street goon.
  11. Just ordered a new Badger 350 airbrush and the adapter for Model Master bottles and some extra siphon tubes. That should fix me up for another 30 years or the rest of my life, whichever comes first LOL.
  12. I happily used the kit slicks in my recent build of a Day 2 street brawler. This was an older prepainted issue from the early 2000s.
  13. Oh yeah, THAT would be fun to park!
  14. Well THAT's something I haven't seen before! Well done and model on!
  15. Thanks so much! Yeah, that IS kinda what I've done with it, isn't it?
  16. Been there, done that. Got the T-shirt, got the hat.
  17. To get one, if mine has them.
  18. I'm amazed they have them AT ALL. Looks like a trip to HL for me tomorrow.
  19. Started on the frame for my '66 Mustang street freak. I'm using the frame from the AWB Comet, but the interior tub from the Mustang. This is a problem because the forward rear axle spring mounts are on the underside of the Comet's interior--there's nowhere to mount the springs on the frame itself. So I had to find some suitably sized sprue, trim it, fit it, and glue it into the frame. They're the two pieces that run to the mid-frame crossmember. Another job I've been dreading/putting off for a few weeks now, so with that done, the rest of the frame assembly should proceed smoothly. SHOULD.
  20. That's a shame. The wheels and tires in these kits seem to be a "system" and it might be troublesome to use slicks from some other kit, if that's what you had in mind.
  21. Maybe the owner was an airline or bomber pilot, and wanted to feel "at home" on the road.
  22. Cool! I have that "gun motor carriage" Dodge in a Testors box. I've seen the WC54 ambulance in Testors boxes, too, back in the '90s. Testors ones might be easier to find so don't forget to include them in your search.
  23. I never noticed that before, but you might be onto something! I have always thought that the '67 Chevy front end was ripped from the classic '63-'65 Riviera. Hey, if you're gonna steal, steal from the best!
  24. The Revell snap kit, right? Came out nice. Here's how I did my two, one stock, one custom. Main color is polished plastic on both.
