You don't want to live anywhere near a tannery, either.

So have I, for metal, but have never seen the plastic-labeled product above. I wouldn't think of using THAT stuff on plastic (I mean the stuff I've been using). Dunno about the above product.

IME, MEK doesn't work but MC does. YMMV. -
International Tractor found on USS Hornet After 76 years
Snake45 replied to ranma's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
I thought the pic looked suspiciously like a fairly well done model, so I googled it. Apparently it's real. And some wag has posted a classified ad with the pic, too: Antique International Harvester tractor, complete, never wrecked or damaged, low miles, running when parked, as-is, where-is. -
Looks pretty sharp! Well done and model on!

If that's really an AMT '68 Firebird, you did a magnificent job of mounting and blending in the roof, and scratchbuilding the whole rear panel. If it's a recent-issue Revell kit, you still did a very nice and eye-catching job with it.

I discovered last year that scraping with a thumbnail under hot running water works very well. -

One of the better builds of this kit I've ever seen. I especially like the paint job. I think you're at least 100 off on both the CI and HP, though. Well done and model on!

Yeah, we're still running, this round closes next week (June 30). I'll try to get an update posted today. Thanks for the reminder! -
Memphis Street Outlaws--Something New!
Snake45 replied to Snake45's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I saw the slickest move ever Monday night from Doughboy's wife (Chelsea?) in the ratty '66 Chevelle "Tomcat." She was racing a big-tire car with a bigger engine, so the guy gave her "the hit" (and maybe a car length, I don't remember). Now usually when somebody gets the hit, JJ stages the cars as normal, then brings his arms to the center of his body and puts them down, lowers his head, and starts walking forward. At some point in the next second or two, the handicapped car takes off, starting the action. But this time, as soon as JJ started moving his arms in/down, Chelsea took off like a BOOH. Caught the guy sleeping--would have caught me sleeping too, I wouldn't have expected her to go THAT soon. Can't say she "jumped," as she had the hit to start with. Guy had no choice but to chase her and she just drove right out of his life. BOO-YAH, girl! -
Very clean work!

I'm not a fan of '58 Chevy but I like this one. You managed to make something cool out of it. Well done and model on!

Hobby Lobby re-opening
Snake45 replied to Mike999's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Still no Supernatural '67 Impala at my HL. Used my coupon to buy another can of vanishing MM paint just so the trip wasn't wasted. Gonna give up and order the Impala from one of the net joints. I need a couple other things anyway. Oh, and no kits on clearance. They did have one '40 Ford sedan at regular price. -

I do now. BTW, those lyrics were so common and generic I had to google three lines of them at a time to get the answer.

Looks like it could have been a Roth or Tom Daniel creation, or a Hot Wheel. Pretty cool! Model on!

Memphis Street Outlaws--Something New!
Snake45 replied to Snake45's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I've never seen Hellanor before but I've only been watching maybe 3 years. Within the last year I saw someone with a 1G Falcon, but I think that's the only Falcon I've ever seen. Last week somebody had IIRC a '32 Ford pickup. Doughboy screwed up and jumped on him, and he sat and therefore won. I would have liked to see more of that car. It was from southern Illinois. -

I've seen that one on there two or three times. I think it was at JJ's Arm Drop in WV last year, and also in the $100,000 street race more recently. That thing scoots! Mini-pickups aren't uncommon; seems like almost every outlaw crew has at least one, but I don't know if I've ever specifically seen a LUV before.
