  1. Can you get me some dimensions on that? Overall length (not including bumpers) and width across the front and/or rear fenders would be helpful--would tell me what I need to know.
  2. I went hunting for them on ePay last night. Several of the pink ones with flared fenders, and a lot of convertibles, but only found one copy of a stock-bodied sedan and that was part of a 3-kit deal.
  3. I tellya, you're so close to Daddy Warbucks in so many ways that you might as well take off the side trim and go ahead and DO DW. I don't think that trim removal would be too troublesome for someone of your skill. Go for it!
  4. Email Round 2, send them these pics, and ask for new bodies. Sometimes, though, bodies magically straighten out when mated with their interiors and chassis. Not all the time, but often enough to try it. I think that would work with your leeser warped one, and might even work with the other one.
  5. The Polar Lights and new Revell Beetles are 1/24. The size difference would be apparent. The older Revell Beetles are 1/25, but are getting hard to find. I might have to try to scare one up. The firewall adjustment, if necessary, doesn't bother me.
  6. If it's the right size, that would work for me. I just need the top, body sides, and hood and deck lid to make a (fenderless) Altered body for the old IMC drag chassis. Maybe I'll just go ahead and get one and if it doesn't work for me, I can build it for my grandson to play with.
  7. Thanks! I got a couple things I'll throw in the pond overnight.
  8. Yesterday at HL with a 40% off coupon (on one item), I bought a new green Revell Concept Camaro, and one 1/4 bottle and one 1/2 bottle of Testors and got change back from a twenty. That's not horrible these days.
  9. Look next time you're there. These weren't there last week.
  10. How long does "a soak in the pond" take? I'm used to Easy Off working its nasty magic in about 20 minutes, though repeated scrubs and re-applications are often (usually) necessary.
  11. Those are rare, and I'm not sure I've ever seen a 60% off at all. Most ACM coupons I see are 40%. AC Moore is now at $37.99. 40% off of that is $22.79, so, close. My AC Moore has only had Revell kits for the last year or two, so not really apples-to-apples comparo. I've never seen any of these kits at ACM, or at least not in YEARS.
  12. Got mine today, so I'm IN! Just ordered Monday, got it today Thursday--big ups to Southern Motorsports Hobbies!
  13. I'm virtually certain that's the same box art that was on the plastic kit.
  14. Well it says Super Clean right on the label.
  15. Very nice! I've never heard of this one. I have two Johnny Lightnings, which are fairly nice, and have heard of but never seen Revell's. Yours looks good!
  16. Agree completely. I spent several hours with files, sandpaper and putty trying to get it to look right. And even then there's no way I can think of to get the subtle crease line along the upper body sides.
  17. Very, VERY nice--really looks the part. Did you replace the kit front wheels/tires?
  18. I wrote a detailed review of the Welly '68 down in the Diecast section, complete with comparison to the AMT '69. The Welly is a bit undersized, maybe 1/26, but it's notably narrower than the AMT '69. I doubt that the '69 Welly interior could be used in the AMT kit, at least not without modification. Good luck with your project and GITTER DONE!
  19. Stand-alone cardboard "island" at the front of the toy section. Obviously from Round 2 as it's all AMT/MPC/Lindberg and Polar Lights kits. Mostly cars, a couple airplanes and some Star Wars/Star Trek stuff. Didn't seen anything I couldn't get at Hobby Lobby. Kit prices aren't marked on the boxes, they're on various priced shelves. Highest price shelf is $24.97, which is $5 cheaper than Hobby Lobby (and WAY cheaper than AC Moore), but who pays full metal retail for kits at HL? The reissued Prowler was on the "$14.97" shelf but I'm not sure it was in the right place. This might be of interest to those who have access to a Walmart but not a Hobby Lobby.
  20. FINALLY bought me a Purple Pond at Walmart. I hope the stuff works as well as you guys say!
  21. When I restored my original Monkeemobile, I had a windshield frame that was bowed almost that badly. What I did was tape and clamp the glass securely in place and epoxy one side, and then when that was dry, epoxied the other side. It came out just fine without the risk of ruining the thin part with heat. BTW, you should consider entering this in the Bring Out Your Dead Completion Build. Sounds like it easily qualifies as a "stalled project," and it looks like you can GITTER DONE by the end of March.
  22. Didn't "get" one today, but the other day I found one I bought a year or more ago and had pretty much forgotten--Maisto '64 Ford Thunderbolt. For some reason I got interested in doing it and got about half the work done on it yesterday. Should finish it up today, or tomorrow latest.
  23. Yes. It seems to be quite good, and fits right in with their other books on the cars of Jenkins, S&M, and Landy. They're must-haves for anyone interested in the evolution of FX to Super Stock to Pro Stock. Great stuff!
  24. The quick-build is the one I'm interested in. I just need the body to drop on an IMC VW AA/Altered chassis, so detail is unimportant, just size and shape.
