The lint has always stuck to my dryer screen. I just lick my fingertips and swipe and the lint comes right up.

Looks like the '66 and '69 wheelbases are the same, so the AMT '66 Fairlane or '67 Comet Cyclone chassis would work.

In October of 1989, I walked into the McDonald's in the Danbury Mall in Danbury, CT. It looked like the line was about about 2 deep, but someone asked me for my order almost immediately. I told him, he put it in a bag, and handed it to me and I didn't have to wait for anything to get finished. I don't think I'd been on the premises 60 whole seconds at that point. I told the guy--who turned out to be the manager--that that had never happened to me at any McDonald's anywhere, ever, in over 20 years. He said, "Thanks--that's why we're rated the #1 McDonald's in the world most months." I congratulated him and haven't forgotten it to this day.

Great wheels, great tires, but for $21 I'd expect TWO sets of each. No sale here, sorry, not at that price.

Very cool, magnificent work! Do you have enough stuff left over to kinda-sorta get another one together, even if it wouldn't be as nice as this one?

Can i use testors enamel paint over tamiya primer

Yes. I start with 50/50 paint/thinner, add more thinner if necessary. -
No Prep Kings Season Four

Been fun watching the bad guys get beat the last couple weeks, and a couple of real good guys win. Something occurred to me after watching both last night's races: If you're going to call yourself "Dominator," you really should win a race or two every now and then. Maybe Joe needs to change his name to "Participant." Couldn't have been happier to see Jeff Lutz win the Team Attack, and loudmouth Swansong lose. Apparently Swansong hasn't yet learned his lesson about running his mouth and risking irritating the Irony Gods. If I'm interpreting the previews correctly, something VERY interesting and exciting will happen in next week's Team Attack. -

Very nice! Great color and finish, and perfect selection of wheels and tires. Well done and model on! -
Revell Monogram '57 Vette .

Did you mean for the whole model, or just the windshield wipers? I wouldn't worry about aftermarket for this competent but unspectacular kit. Build it out of the box, do your best with what's there, and have fun with it. Save aftermarket and superdetailing for something more worthy of serious efforts. Just my opinion, worth exactly what you paid for it. Model on! -
What Did You Get Today? (Not Model Related)

Got two new airguns this week. Umarex/Ruger MARK IV breakbarrel (single-shot) .177, and Umarex/Smith & Wesson Model 29 CO2/BB. The Ruger would be a fun gun and a great value if it had a better trigger. The trigger pull is just horrendous. The big S&W also needs a better trigger, but it's not as bad as the Ruger. I'm not a fan of the super-long barrel, either, but that's the only way they make it for now. Got 78 shots out of one CO2 cartridge. It's pretty fun to shoot, maybe not quite as fun as the semiauto blowback ones, but still pretty fun and cool. -
Let's See Some Glue Bombs!

Great glue bomb, looks very restorable--good luck with it and keep us posted on progress! -
Sharp looking car. I'd have kept it, too.

He's kidding, of course.

The instructions for the roadster frame are here: https://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/mkiba-build-under-c/revell-instructions/straightline-competition/revell-sanitary-t-b/ -
If you meant only Revell's, you're right, but it was in the original AMT annual, and the MPC annual and some reissues.

Good to see Hank Borger's Moon Wind again. Thanks for sharing it! BTW, I bought Phil Jensen's original scratch-bashed MALCO Gasser off eBay a couple years ago in a state of mild disrepair, and am hoping that my respectful restoration turns out as well. -
Well, this one does have a missing taillight and broken (piece missing) A-pillar. Still might bring in the $50 neighborhood, or more.
-
Yes, at least. I was gonna say most of them would bring $50 or better on eBay, some of them quite a bit better than that.

Decanting Small Amounts from Rattlecans
Snake45 replied to Snake45's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Thanks for all the replies. I'll be decanting Krylon and/or Rustoleum paints, at least to start, maybe some Duplicolor. Not gonna screw around with straws or any of that, just gonna spray direct into small plastic cups until it looks like I have enough for my immediate need. Pour it into a Floquil 1/2 bottle, let sit 30 to 60 minutes and see what it looks like, then thin as necessary. -

And his armor models are at least as nice and as well-respected as his airplanes. I have no idea how he builds as many models as he does, as quick as he does them, and still write/photograph them up and publish something new on HS five times a week. He really is a super-modeler. -
Very cool! Came out better than I expected when you first told of doing it. The proportions remind me a little of an MG Midget. Still think it would look cool on a chopped VW chassis if you ever decide to upgrade it. Well done and model on!
-
Very nice, very clean build! I built one of these back in the '90s and thought it was a very nice, no-hassles kit. VERY well done and model on!

Good luck, Kenneth, and drop in here frequently for inspiration and cheering-up.
