  1. One of the cleanest builds I've ever seen of this kit. Well done and model on!
  2. That's pretty cool looking! Is that a "fade" paint job, or just the lighting? Either way, VERY cool old survivor!
  3. I checked and you're correct. The Corvette box didn't have the "for" on it, though the rest did.
  4. I think the "racing windshield" was in the original "for 1968" kit. I have a glue bomb of one of these I've been meaning to get to. The plan is to put it on a VW chassis and call it a "Faux-Vette" kit car.
  5. Quoted for truth. What he said.
  6. I've seen that kit at my HL for a couple years now. Heck, I might have even bought one. (Need to check the Snakepit or the trunk of the Snakemobile. )
  7. How much would you have to chop a '71-'73 Mustang top before anyone noticed? It looks chopped right on the showroom floor!
  8. How many hours did you have in a build?
  9. Glad to hear you're on the mend. Many have had much worse reactions, some permanent.
  10. Put me down for a couple of the Charger funnycars.
  11. Great "what-if" idea and you pulled it off quite nicely! Well done and model on!
  12. If you watch eBay long enough, sooner or later everything will turn up. You should be able to find a roached-looking glue bomb at an affordable price. ETA: Here's a savable promo for just $30, Buy It Now--or make offer! https://www.ebay.com/itm/294493829042?hash=item44913337b2:g:-KUAAOSw9BlhduRk And here's a built glue bomb currently at $9.50 but with 6 days still to go--no telling what it'll go for but looks promising: https://www.ebay.com/itm/265388721275?hash=item3dca66847b:g:b84AAOSwXnlhgbDd
  13. I hope you get over it, and aren't one of the severe reactions we hear about. Good luck, friend.
  14. I'd be willing to bet it's just in the middle. Remember that at the same time, they were also making 112" frames. Simplest change would be in the length of the main frame rails.
  15. At 116", I think the Monte Carlo (or '68 El Camino) is as close as you're gonna get to the GP's 118.
  16. Thanks for the kind words, but most of my "rescues" have been minor touch-ups compared to the work you're facing with that Deuce frame. The only full-on complete rework on that level I've finished I can think of was this old Revell EMPI Imp.
  17. Yup, that's a gluey one all right. If it were a rare kit, would be worth all efforts, but it isn't really. I think I'd spray-bomb the whole mess black and look for a body that would cover as much of it as possible. Good luck with it!
  18. GREAT job on those three saves, Tom! Model on!
  19. Yikes! Where does the time go! I need to Snake-slap some paint on Stupidbird. Thanks for the reminder! I was thinking it was Dec. 15 for some reason. DOH!
  20. And I love the ones who say, "I might let you build a model of my old car sometime." I always say, "Let me? If I decided I wanted to, you couldn't stop me!"
  21. Was just watching episode #3 of Seinfeld. There's what looks like a diecast light blue Porsche in his apartment.
  22. I've had people ask me about building them a model, expecting I'll do it for $10 or $20 or even $50. I tell 'em I'll do it for $25 an hour, and it will probably be somewhere between 20 and 40 hours. That squashes the idea fast, which is fine with me. I got plenty of stuff I want to build for myself--probably more than I can finish in my lifetime.
  23. Thanks for the kind words. I agree that the Revell snapper Chevelles are the best of the available options. They haven't been reissued in a while but they're still on eBay if you really want one. The metallic green ones seem to be the hardest to find, which is the main reason I bought this one and put the work into it. Model on, everyone!
