  1. VERY nice, very clean build! Well done and model on!
  2. I had/have one of those Farah's Vette kits. I say had/have because I had a new, sealed, never-opened copy of the kit stored with a few dozen others in a shed behind my garage. Somehow water got into that shed and ruined the boxes of about a half-dozen of them. This was one of those. I think I saved all the plastic but the box, decals, and instructions were toast (or whatever the soggy, moldy, rotted equivalent of "toast" is). Ah shucks oh well.
  3. Some of those bring to mind some of the "bling-bling" superfly '70s conversions of Eldos, Grand Prixs, a few Vettes, and so forth.
  4. Just watched the Tom Cruise movie Oblivion on HBOMAX. Not sure if I saw it before or not, but it's fabulous. I don't know why it doesn't have the respect and following of, say The Matrix or Blade Runner. IMHO it's even better than those. Highly recommended!
  5. Very nice! I really dig the attitude! Well done and model on!
  6. Purple Power! I dig it! Model on!
  7. The New Blues Brothers...and Sisters. Pretty cool!
  8. Is that one of those Renwal Revivals? They were complete fantasy anyway, so replace the dash and console with anything you like that will fit. It looks like you have everything here you need to build a nice model. Do it YOUR way and have fun with it! Drive on!
  9. Got it. I do a lot of that kind of building myself. Drive on!
  10. I get that. I don't need stock or anything even really close to stock, just want something where the doors might be useful as normal, which the full FC frame doesn't give me.
  11. I'm having a somewhat similar problem. I have a rebuildable glue bomb Vega wagon funny car that I'd like to turn into a '70s bracket racer or street freak. Trying to find a chassis of some sort that will fit under the Vega body. I don't have any spare Monzas and am not gonna buy one just for this. Wonder if the AMT '72 Nova chassis could be cut down? Or perhaps the Fiat chassis from the AMT Double Dragster? Hmmmmm....
  12. Got the '70 Chevelle SS Magnum 500 wheels for my latest glue bomb rescue finished. The black portions took me about an hour yesterday, the flat silver spokes about a half hour today. Also got the interior detail-painted. Got to make a replacement for a missing taillight, then detail the grille area, and then nail the whole evil mess together.
  13. Didn't JoHan make the AMT Toronados?
  14. The treads on the tires are the LEAST of that kit's problems. Seriously, the tires are one of that kit's best features. It's one of very few that include the BIG GT Radials, as well as a nice set of big 1/24 slicks.
  15. Yah, that's cool, but that was the tail end of that body's seven-year life cycle. It's still basically a pimped-up '68 Nova. A '75 Ventura-based GTO would have been something new.
  16. You forgot posting pictures of every stupid thing they were about to eat.
  17. I like where you're going with this! I second the motion to lose the running boards. Drive on!
  18. Thanks! I don't know if it's the same stuff, but I've been using their "High Lustre Coating" Lacquer, misting on a couple of coats to be safe, and then 3 or 4 wetter ones. I've been VERY happy so far with how it polishes out.
  19. What a shame. A Ventura-based GTO with a Pontiac engine would have been a fresh breeze on the market in 1975. Maybe they were afraid of cutting into Trans Am sales, as the TA and the Corvette pretty much owned the hi-po market at that time, lame as they were.
  20. Not out of the box. Would need a new chassis, stock engine, stock wheels/tires, maybe even some stock interior parts. Oh, and a stock hood.
  21. Chris, how many coats of the clear did you put on?
  22. Mine clicked right on with no problem. Brian's idea about checking for flash in the hole is a good one.
  23. You made out on both deals. The Universe must have decided you had some Good Karma coming.
  24. Thanks! That's one vote for the gray. Gray wasn't that "big" a color in the mid-'70s, but I had my real '69 Camaro SS painted almost exactly this color in 1978. It was a real standout.
  25. Neighbor to Kevin Hart, who is screaming some sort of credit card offer at him: "Why are you yelling? I'm right here!" Kevin Hart: "'CAUSE THAT'S WHAT I DO!"
