  1. Sweet deal! I just paid more than that for a cleanly built one.
  2. I can't think of a kit that has both skinny and deep Cragars. Deep Cragars can be found in (among others) the AMT '72 Nova and '65 El Camino. Skinny Cragars are in the stock version of the AMT '66 Nova. If you're careful, deep Cragars can be sectioned to create narrow ones.
  3. Beautiful, great color, great finish! Well done and model on!
  4. Fabulous find and your rework is absolutely excellent! VERY well done and model on!
  5. To my surprise and delight, the FedEx truck pulled up today and delivered 2/3 of my order--I thought they were holding the whole shipment until the Luger came in after the first of the month (they're not supposed to be charging me for shipping twice, we'll see what happens). So, no Luger yet, and I haven't been able to sneak the Thompson into the house yet, but I have had the chance to handle the CZ75. It's a beast! Feels heavier than the advertised weight of 2.09 pounds--maybe that's a misprint and it's supposed to be 2.9 pounds? The site description says it's single action but the trigger does raise and drop the hammer DA, though the hammer fall is reduced and it remains to be seen if it will actually shoot that way. SA trigger pull is VERY light--I'd estimate @ 3 pounds and a little mushy. The sights look good and the whole thing feels nice in the hand. I'll shoot it as soon as I can and report back. SB, if you have a real one, you might want to get one of these for basement rainy-day fun. And I wouldn't wait too long--not only are the prices of everything going up, but these are made in Taiwan and I don't know how long things from there will be available here.
  6. I ordered one because I've always wanted a real CZ75 but never bought one because my hand's just a little too small to reach the trigger in DA, and because it's the closest thing available (so far) to my beloved Browning P-35. The airgun mag costs twice as much as the "real" mag because it's much more complicated--it contains the CO2 cartridge and the gas valve, which is the heart of the operating system.
  7. No need to wait to see them. Here they are: https://www.pyramydair.com/product/legends-m1a1-177-full-auto-blowback-co2-bb-gun?m=5125 https://www.pyramydair.com/product/legends-blowback-p08-co2-pistol-full-metal?m=3485 https://www.pyramydair.com/product/cz-75-co2-bb-pistol?m=3480 As to price increases, I notice that at least three of the five airguns I've bought in the last 4 or 5 months are now 10% more than when I bought them. Of these three, the Luger's price is up about 10% over what it was when I first decided to get one about a month ago. (I've just been waiting for a sale, which they finally had last week.)
  8. Very cool, I like this a lot! I'm planning to build something VERY similar sometime soon so appreciate the preview of coming attractions. I can see that one change I'll make is to make that roll bar higher, or find a taller one. Well done and model on!
  9. I've been having such fun shooting airguns in my basement this summer that Thursday I ordered three more. One of my favorite vendors was having a 10% off sale with free shipping and nothing is getting any cheaper, so why not? One of them is out of stock until the first week of November so I won't get them until then, but I'm in no hurry. Meanwhile, three other new airguns I want have been announced but aren't out yet and won't be until (at least) January 2022. With inflation getting its evil talons around the whole economy I suspect the prices then will be substantially higher then that what's being advertised now. I contacted the vendor and asked if I could pre-order these three now, at today's price with the 10% off sale deal, and lock in that price for whenever they DO become available, and they said yes! (And they won't charge my credit card until they actually ship.) So I ordered those too!
  10. Thanks! I HOPE it does. Good tires and wheels are always in short supply in the Snakepit. It think if I get the rear down a little, the front will automatically "raise" to a noticeable degree. I might go for more of a NASCAR stance/vibe with this one rather than my usual drag/street racer look. I'm not planning to take the body off the chassis. Really no reason to, and I don't want to risk damaging it.
  11. And here it is. Still trying to decide what to do with it. Only thing it really NEEDS is the Torq-Thrust spokes painted. Not wild about the rear tires sticking out so far (they're that wide--can't be tucked it), so I'm thinking about finding something that will JUST tuck into the body. Might even try to lower the rear a little to just a "rubber rake." Ideas/opinions welcome.
  12. It's looking like this is a possibility next year (not the MS restoration, but the reissue of the "Custom Corvette").
  13. I've seen them made out of plastic spoons, or plastic "sporks."
  14. Work continues apace on my '65 El Camino glue bomb. Shown here original condition; after stripping; after most of the glue had been tediously removed with small riffler files and the taillighs filled with J-B Weld and filed to shape, and today after scribing out the door and tailgate lines and the first coat of primer.
  15. Maybe that's what I'm thinking of. Thanks!
  16. I have a VERY vague recollection of some kind of typical MPC full custom based on the '68 Impala convertible, but I might be completely wrong about that.
  17. Quite lovely, but that's the Grand Prix, not the Bonneville. (At least it has an accurate roof. )
  18. Hey, I've learned to keep an open mind and look at almost everything with "How could this be used in modeling?"
  19. Very true. And if you painted the Vette red, you're covering Prince as well.
  20. Or you could just alter the lyrics a little when you "cover" the song. "I got a '69 Chevy with a 396, 'luminum heads...." Or maybe "...fuel injection and a Hurst on the floor." Zevon gave the Chevy a 429 because he had to make it rhyme with "run it out to the end of the line." But it might be a good chance to use up one of those oddball bonus AMT "Restomod" engines.... And hey, building it would cover TWO songs: Foreigner's "Headknocker:" "He drives a '57 coupe, walks with a stoop, swears James Dean isn't dead...."
  21. I think you'd be more comfortable in the car for 24 straight hours--and have to make fewer gas stops--with the 413.
  22. Thanks, I'll check that out!
  23. Bruce Springsteen: "I got a '69 Chevy with a 396, fuelie heads and a Hurst on the floor...." Warren Zevon: "Johnny had a '57 Chevy, four on the floor and a four-twenty-nine...." (In both cases--yah, I know. )
  24. Probably the latter. Doesn't look as good as GOOD kit chrome, but I've seen some bad kit chrome that it looks better than.
  25. Anyone make a resin hood for the Revell '56 Chevy Del Ray with the Thunderbolt teardrop bubble on it? I checked all "the usual suspects" I could think of today and all I could find was tall CI hoods.
