I use this forum to host photos for my posts here. After the Photobucket fail the admins here made plenty of storage space available. Still, I resize my photos to less than 1200 pixels across (often down to 800), because I don't think that a larger resolution photo is really needed for a forum post. That way I also feel that I am conserving some of that plentiful space for others and for future use.

My mom had a '76 (IIRC) 4-door Monarch. She called a "small V8" (so, a 302). It was baby blue with dark blue vinyl roof and trim, and dark blue interior with a front bench seat. I was in my mid teens then and I lover the factory radio with 4 speakers. When it got totaled, she got a '77 T-bird.

Yes, this is good for plating metal parts (BTW, "copy chrome" is not as bright as the real chrome), but most modelers are looking for vacuum metalizing of polystyrene or urethane resin parts. For that the best process is aluminum vacuum metalizing. This process can give a chrome-like finish to plastic and metal parts.

While it is nice of you to do this, I don't see why anybody should be posting a 3 or 4MB photo files to the forum. A JPG file that is 3 or 4MB in size will likely be a 5 Megapixel or larger. That is larger than can be displayed on a monitor (and on smart phone screen). IMHO. I post to another forum where the photo uploader automatically resizes larhe photos to 1280 pixels across. That saves lot of space (even if you have oodles available).

My top pick is SR-71, then Concorde and "Concordski" (Tu-144). But I also like the looks of the original Boeing 747 Jumbo Jet. I love the hump, and its overall proportions! Most airplanes, but design, are beautiful. I think we will eventually see most airplanes ever produced listed here. I think a more manageable thread would have been "What is the ugliest airplane?". There are few out there.

Mike, I lover to see unusual models like this being built. A pedestrian factory-stock Volvo - nice! I knew that Tamiya had a model of a Volvo (or two), but I never seen the Italeri kit before. You mentioned the 4X4 look. While the high-sitting suspension would create that look, the kit tires with the very aggressive thread (especially on the sidewalls) also add quite a bit to that 4X4 look. I think that replacing the tires with ones which look more like "normal" tires would make this model look like a typical "grocery getter".

Ingenious! Where did you get those tiny rare-earth magnets? I know Tamiya includes them in some kits, but you probably get yours elsewhere?

That's what I was thinking too. Who cares what color the plastic is? Well, unless you are collector and wan to collect them all, keeping them in their sealed boxes.

Partly to blame are all the modern computerized doo-dads that are included in the vehicles. I could make a long list, but I don't feel like typing. Many are not needed, and some actually crate distractions.
