  1. P.A.T.D., something seriously lacking in today's world.
  2. To make room for more model kits at home. Them books are notorious space hogs.
  3. FYI, Nick Kulczak has been active on Clearly Scale's FB page as recently as last week. Jeremy is still recovering from surgery: The out of stock items, were temporary, while Jeremy was busy between producing orders, and dealing with surgery and recovery since the start of the holidays. They will be marked again as available, when he can next do so.
  4. Masterclub nuts, bolts and rivets are superior to anything else available. I've been using them for years. Great addition to the inventory, Randy.
  5. It might be an old gag; but, it was never seen on big or small screen until Wally and Eddie pulled it off.
  6. Germans are infatuated with American culture. From C&W music to big rigs and muscle cars. When I was stationed in FRG in the early '80s, there was a car dealer in Furth, not far from Johnson Barracks, who sold nothing but used Corvettes and Camaros. His customers were exclusively German and he could barely maintain his inventory because of the demand.
  7. Just when you think, "Nah,, they don't make' em": Decal: Bullet holes in the glass of the car
  8. Because we're swell guys.
  9. By "main bit", are you referring to the header panel? That's the frame above the bumper that the headlights and grille mount to. To straighten out the grille, place it in near boiling water for a minute or so, until the resin is softened. Remove it from the water; and, using two pieces of styrene sheet placed on the bottom of the insert, press both sides down with your fingers and run some cold water to cool the resin. It will flatten and retain the shape. You didn't try inserting the grille into the header panel in its present state, did you? That vertical divider would prevent you from doing so. Grind, or cut out, the divider in the header panel and the insert will fit.
  10. Glue .010" square stock just behind the windshield frame on the roof (from the inside) and on the inner edge of the A pillars. Then, just pop the windshield into place. the strips will hold it securely and you won't have to worry about getting glue smudges all over.
  11. Never mind about long before LITB. You couldn't remember that this happened in LITB.
  12. It occured in "Wally's Practical Joke", Season 6 Episode 35. George Lucas ripped it off ten years later.
  13. See, it wasn't that difficult. I didn't realize your Chinese was that proficient.
  14. Wally's first car was a 1936 Ford 5 Window Coupe.
  15. The original 2001 release includes Robbie and no crew figures. The 2009 release has Anne Francis, Leslie Nielsen, three crew members, Robbie and the Id Monster molded in clear styrene. I've seen this kit on Amazon and eBay going for over 350 bucks.
  16. Serial killer joyride. Lumpy's thinking they got rid of Larry Mondello which means Eddie's next.
  17. Gunship Gray (FS36118) paint, mixed with a few drops of your choice of flat or semi-gloss black (MM Black Chrome Trim paint works best) imparts a good representation of tire rubber.
  18. Bill's right. Why should you have to do the kit manufacturer's job? You're paying for something that should have been "right" in the first place.
  19. That's bordering on blasphemy, Bill. Isn't the prospect of countless, agonizing hours of reworking and correcting a kit manufacturer's mess something we all look forward to tackling? It seems that car modelers are supposed to have lower expectations and standards when it comes to accuracy and like it.
  20. I checked. It is 32" long when assembled, almost as long as it's namesake Tamiya 1/350 aircraft carrier (38 1/2"). I stopped in at the Forbidden Planet Store in Manhattan some years ago. In the front window was a huge Enterprise. This was long before the PL kit was released. I asked one of the momos working there how big it was. He said it was 1/350 scale and 33" long. Nice. He was happy to inform me that I could buy it for only 1200 bucks.
  21. Only if you use lacquer thinner to thin water-based acrylic paints. I use lacquer thinner with AKAN lacquer acrylic paints with no problems. Rich, just use IPA for Polly S, Pollyscale, Vallejo, Model Master Acryl, Revell Acrylics (if you can get a hold of them), Humbrol and even Tamiya. I use 91% IPA. I found that using IPA makes it easy to cross-mix different brands too.
  22. Keep the following in mind. There might be younger modelers not familiar with it: If I didn't see it before, it's new to me.
  23. If the parts aren't welded together with a krapload of glue, try this: Wet the parts in water before placing them in the freezer. The water trapped in the spaces between will freeze, forcing the glue joints, and the parts to separate. You might need to repeat this several times.
