  1. Kevin, I got this C-57D (PL5098) for only 78 bucks on eBay. I also have the newer PL812 with crew figures and ID Monster. I was lucky to snag that one for only $49.99 when Entertainment Earth had it on sale some years back.
  2. Here's Manny's reply: Hey joe, all orders are done through email or Facebook message on Craig Hosfeld VCG Resins.Email is mannyclub2000@yahoo.comIf using a credit card for an order you can send a phone number to call. Once I get the order email of face book message I can call and have the total etc ready. As of right now I am not doing. Restoration parts go, I haven’t had the time to go through the molds. Trying to make more room in the shop. I am in the shop 14-16 hrs a day, and always busy here I try to get back to people either the same day or the next day.Manny
  3. The Facebook page is active. I PM'ed him to get the lowdown on the situation. I'll let you know as soon as I receive a reply. Edit: I found this while scrolling through the posts on FB: ...you need to email what you would like with the qty each, your mailing address etc. i will send you the total and invoice number. you can email me at mannyclub2000@yahoo.com or you order on here in a message. any questions feel free to ask. Manny So, use the web page as a reference, pickout the stuff you want and follow the above instructions.
  4. VCG Resins has the '64 and '65 Falcon hoods. Look under "Replacement Parts". The '65 hood is listed in "Mold # AD" and the '64 hood in "Mold # DH".
  5. Nothing wrong with reviving an old thread. Someone might be able to add to it with more recent information which could benefit all. Be glad that this board allows older thread to be bumped up to the top when new replies are added. This keeps them relevant until they run their course. There are plenty of boards that don't and many interesting discussions get buried. If one does run across some thread, which might only be a few days old, and wants to post a comment, it might be kicked down so many pages that nobody will bother reading it.
  6. You can experience zombie reality by taking a walk in my neighborhood on any given day. How does a zombie maintain structural integrity to be able to overpower anyone? Since zombies are dead, they are in a state of ongoing decomposition and there is no cell regeneration. They have no muscles and can't weigh more than an average hipster, who also has no muscles. Why do they amble about in herds? And, why do they eat? They're dead. It's obvious that an all-protein diet doesn't do a thing for them.
  7. The silly gimmicky weapons annoy the hell out of me. Daryl and his crossbow, Michonne and her oversized ginsu, Morgan and his stick.... What's next, are they going to add a guy whose specialty is shooting paperclips? My kid and I bet on how many times Rick makes that dumb, deer-caught-in-headlights, open mouth stare in each episode.
  8. Everybody knows there's nothing past page 1. Many who attempted to go to page 2 fell off the edge of their computer screens, never to be seen or heard from again.
  9. Two possibilities here. Either you didn't remove all of the mold release or the caster used cheap resin. Get some Duplicolor self-etching primer. AutoZone and Pep Boys carry it. You also might want to wash and scrub the parts again with dishwashing liquid and wipe them down with acetone (not nail polish remover) before using the self-etching primer.
  10. You're lucky. The Goodwill store down the block from me doesn't accept toys, model kits, etc. It only sells these "book" things, dinnerware, furniture and clothing with pre-stained armpits. I got these in the mail yesterday: An original 2001 release of the Polar Lights C-57D Starcruiser in glorious 1/72 scale and an Academy (ex Italeri) 1/48 U-2S
  11. That De Havilland look like a nice kit. It has a 24' wingspan and is 16.5" long. It's available at De Havilland Dreams. Check out what George Mustafa did with it.
  12. "They" know that modelers use the stuff. So, what do "they" do? Throw us a curve by changing the dammed name every couple of months so we can't find the stuff. Next thing you know, it'll be relabeled as a pancake/waffle syrup substitute.
  13. The company's still in business at the same address. No Allison engines anymore; but, you'll get $.41/lb. for mongo.
  14. No prob, man. PM me if you have any more questions.
  15. There is no "plain" V-22 with the exception of the pre-production aircraft which has the designation of V-22A. "V-22" is a general designation. The USMC uses MV-22B's, the USN uses CMV-22B's and the USAF uses CV-22B's. All are/have been painted in multi-color schemes since they were accepted for service. Check out Bell-Boeing V-22, paint schemes and more for the various schemes used. Also, here is the instruction sheet for the kit so you can familiarize yourself with the assembly.
  16. Similar to being an expert on UFO's, the Loch Ness Monster or Sasquatches; although, a girl I went to school with came close to the latter.
  17. Tamiya 86526 AS-26 FS36375 Modern USN Light Ghost Gray Tamiya 86525 AS-25 FS36320 Modern USN Dark Ghost Gray Tamiya 86528 AS-28 FS35237 U.S. Modern Medium Gray MV-22B Osprey Color Profile and Paint Guide
  18. Couldn't run it in NYC. The speed limit was lowered to 25 MPH.
  19. I get my inspiration to build a kit from other sources. As far as`I'm concerned, The kit could be packaged inside a plain cardboard box. I also don't make my decision to buy a kit based on box art since I already know what's inside.
  20. There are plenty of releases of the AMT kit to be had at a reasonable price. All it takes to find them is a Google search and sifting through the results.
  21. Both kits build up nicely. I've used the interior parts from the AMT in the Revell Chevelle and they pretty much fit without any issues. The trunk badge on the AMT kit is on the large side but can be replaced with PE from the Model Car Garage set. The radius of the AMT Chevelle's tail light bezels too rounded when compared to the Revell kit. The bezels on the Revell kit are more accurately rendered when compared to the real deal.
  22. Differences between “price point” and “price” This comment nails it: "If I had to guess, I'd say its gratuitous use probably started with conversations between corporate executives and accountants where the term was being used precisely, moving from there to other executives who were at the meeting, didn't understand the term but thought it sounded good and so tried to imitate the people who knew what they were talking about, gradually spreading out into the culture from there. So, yeah, fundamentally people imitating each other to try to sound clever."
  23. Sure, just use epoxy ( I use Loctite Marine Epoxy) to attach them.
