  1. Bingo! It's perplexing that the pattern makers of 50+ years ago were able to design 99.9999% accurate scale kits without the benefit of the technology available today and their 21st century counterparts can't figure it out. What's preventing today's designers from incorporating 3D laser scans of their prospective projects. Reedoak uses it to create absolutely accurate and detailed figures.
  2. You're definitely not the "short arms, deep pockets" type, Chris. Your number still good? Haven't gabbed in a while.
  3. You get what you pay for. In plain English, car modelers are cheap. More than a few balk at paying the extra money for more detail and better quality. I never complain about the cost if it's something I have an interest in. The $30 list price for a car kit is less than half of the cost for a PE set to use on one of my $80+ armor kits. The total cost for AM 3d printed upgrade parts for my $39 Revellogram 1/32 Apollo CSM kit is over $375. My $185 Italeri 1/35 S-100 Schnellboot requires almost six bills to make it RC-ready. I'm getting an HPH Models 1/48 B-52H as a birthday present to myself. This bad boy costs $855 USD. Again, you get what you pay for. Model manufacturers aren't in the business to be philanthropic. Primary consideration is to operate in the black by raking in the green.
  4. You're absolutely right. My omission. Pretty beat when posting my reply yesterday.
  5. Government-mandated regulations have no basis in reality; therefore, philosophical arguments do not apply.
  6. This method by Ray Ferguson (BigTallDad) is an excellent way to do it:
  7. Same here. A voter in the old Soviet Union had more ballot choices than a voter in NYC today.
  8. What's not to like? That looks stupendous.
  9. The first website, mcwfinishes.com, and the phone number are the correct ones.
  10. Contact SpotModel customer service about this problem. Zero Paints is supposed to be packaging the paints in 30 ml bottles so that their products can be shipped stateside.
  11. Psssst...... Yes, you SeƱor.... miralo aqui: AC Cobra Coupe A98 Le Mans 1964 Jewel Mist Green - 1 x 60ml
  12. Heh, if I had a spare 25-30 grand laying around, I know I would. But, we are getting ahead of ourselves about this. Rick and Pete are the only ones who would know about the status of the molds.
  13. Known as the "Thing" in the U.S.
  14. The silence is deafening.
  15. Here, decent compressor for cheap: Thermally Protected 1/5 HP AIR COMPRESSOR KIT W/3L Air Tank Maintenance Free
  16. Atlantis reworked the clear parts mold for the B-24J; so, it wouldn't be totally out of the question for new glass. That said, what concrete evidence, other than the standard "I heard it from somebody"-type gossip, is there that these glass molds are actually missing? Ron and Pete aren't tyros in the business and know that these kits, if they do actually have the molds, would sell well if produced. Johan kits aren't going to be reproduced, making these attractive alternatives for those modelers wishing to add to their collection of all things Mopar.
  17. Great. Now, provide evidence to dispute what Tom posted.
  18. Stelber Cycle Corp. started out in 1947. It was located at 744 Berriman St. in the East New York section of Brooklyn . In 1962, when the company went public (Stelber Industries), it moved to a 450,000 sq.ft. factory in Yaphank. The company is inactive - dissolution by proclamation / annulment of authority (sep 25, 1991) The original Brooklyn factory
  19. Exactly.
  20. TV stations need to hire sports reporters who actually know sports. I was watching the news this morning (Good Day New York) and the local sports chick announced that this was the first World Series championship for the team since 1924, when they were known as the Senators.
  21. Don't listen to something. This isn't a photoshopped image. That's a ship engine.
  22. Try this: mannyclub2000@yahoo.com
  23. You got that right, Steve. Seeing the 5,000th + posting of an AMT/Revell '63 Impala tends to become monotonous.
  24. Like I said, I used the HQT Tools stainless scriber (top left in the previously posted pic) on the '68 Fury grille/bumper, which is just as thick as the AMT part, to remove the hood trim. Multiple light passes with the scriber completely detached the hood trim in about six minutes. There was no issue with the scriber tip "binding" or getting stuck when nearing the end of the scribing operation. A modified dental pick is no substitute for a purpose-made scriber, no matter how well you think you modified it. A seven buck investment in one of these sets will save you a lot of agita in the future.
