if you click on the 3 dots in the top right of the text box it should give you options to edit. do this on the first post and you should be able to edit the title. i think there is a limit on how long you have to do this. I'm not sure how long the time limit on editting is so if it doesn't work we can still do it for you

its obviously being blown by the wind. an appropriate chain from the wheel to the lampost should stop it blowing further

it wont matter where the kits are molded, there is still import duty on the raw materials so the production will stay mostly in china, where wages are much much lower. if a mold is in china it wont be leaving china, no matter who owns it. remember what happened to the revell model a coupes an they just changed factory.

Roadkill is Dead!
stitchdup replied to Daddyfink's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
i hope somewhere picks up some automotive content instead of another lazy rehash of an already tired concept. i enjoy seeing people working with their hands to create something or bring something back. in the uk we only have 3 main car shows and one of them (5th gear) is yawn inducing but car sos is good while wheeler dealers is a watch the episode once. shows like roadkill, bitchin rides or texas metal are ones you can watch again and again and we need shows like that, the same way we need hard copies of magazines. we really need people that are proud of their work to make shows that let us see why they are proud. we need to have more mastery than mediocrity on tv and that goes for all the hobby shows, whether its cars, knives or baking, show us the pros, not idiot celebs playing for giggles. -

it must be how it looks next to a merc or gm from the time. the mopars just look old and dumpy, while the merc and chevy look sleek and fast. There are a few custom mopars but most seem to be converts or the business coupe body shapes. i did find these -
Garage clutter from iceman collections

it looks like handfulls of the excess parts. even if it might be in the pic, theres no guarentee you'll get that part. it could be a good source for detail parts but you're probably best using it for dio parts with any you can then use in a build being a bonus. a good way to fill up your parts box too -

the whitehouse looks different and smaller in your last pic. must be the angle

you might find a Japanese 2024 kit easier. revell seem to run a couple years behind as most of their recent modern kits are 2022. might be worth looking on one of the japanese store sites

Fd100 backdated
stitchdup replied to stitchdup's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
I decided the rear end needed something else so I'm using an amt parts pack bumper mounted upside down. the mesh area will be the rear lights. I think its maybe lincoln or mopar but i'm not sure. it had pretty big mold lines on the corners so i used them as a guide to chop them down. I'll be continuing the edge from the bumper across the fender which kinda lines up with the running boards. speaking of which, they're getting tuck n roll tops and extended just a hair to smooth them in to the rear fenders. if i can get the interior in with the body fully assembled i may even try molding them into the body too. i also found a left over 50 ford seat to t'n'r to backdate the seat. -
CA-glue-induced severe cracking of polystyrene
stitchdup replied to robdebie's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
is that the archiatectural sheets that have the outer skins shiny? its really bad for this happening and i suspect its due to the inner plastic being a different formula to the outer plastic. if it is these sheets your best option is to use them for mixing filler. the cracking will only spread and get worse. these sheets are meant to be used for flat pieces only. plastruct and evergreen sheets are made to bend but the archiatectural stuff isn't though its cheaper cost makes it tempting -
i build according to my mood at the time. mostly its heavily inspired by something else but rarely is it an actual car. the closest i get to recreating a car is probably box stock and even then i just go for colours i like. in the last few months i've probably built or in the process of building something from each decade since the 1920s (i think that might be the first time i've had to specify the century on that, lol)

What’s your favorite clear red paint?
stitchdup replied to Monty's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
i just think the humbrol matches older cars better. the old clear plastics weren't as crisp as modern clear plastic
