  1. i had some change after buying more printer resin so to use it up i got this. it feels like its a little under 1/25 scale but i haven't measured it. airfix dont list a scale on their site
  2. a very minor change in my medication packaging has completely mixed me up. theres the same amount in the package and all but they are laid out just different enough that i've lost track of if i've taken them or not. before i could just look at the strips and know i've taken them but that doesn't work with the new layout
  3. i've opened the trunk but its a bit dark for pics so i'll get them in the morning. i need to now figure out hinges as i only have a 3mm wide strip to fit them unless i mount the hinges to the side. i'm nt overly worried if i wreck the body as i found files for one but i like the idea of building my own. now if i can find a monogram mustang imsa gtp kit i can make a pretty big jump ahead as it has a zakspeed engine with the correct heads
  4. if you do find old kits, but they aren't something that interests you, you can always use them for trading. i wouldn't rule out built ups either as we have the ability to strip most paints and often its a much cheaper way of getting what you like. its a little more effort needed but if it saves a hundred bucks it could be worth it.
  5. take care on the rear pillars, both the ones i had, had a big ugly step in the middle of the emblems and bag the tyres if they aren't alrrady. again both mine had severe tyre melt
  6. I just found out the engine i need for my escort is in the early 80s monogram imsa gtp mustang kit. would anybody happen to have a complete engine they dont need? or even the full kit as i'm sure i can use more of it in the escort. I've got lots of auto trade fodder in 1/24 and 1/25 or i'm happy to print stuff. i'm in scotland so finding older monogram kits isn't easy
  7. I was lucky enough to find a place that had a load of johan kits for current kit prices. The johan kits weren't really my thing so i traded them with another member for mongram kits. if you search with spelling mistakes you can often find items missed by others on ebay. also often model cars will be in the 1/1 auto section of other websites. i find modle can bring up a lot of options
  8. a clear frosty night is best to see them. i dont usually get pics but this one was brighter than i've seen for a lot of years. theres a good chance they'll be more visable over the next couple of years as the sun is going into some special cycle of its life so will be much more active. if you look at bbc weather it usually says if theres likely to be an aurora. I missed the one at the end of november due to cloud but it had a meteor shower passing through it and i really wanted to see that. sat up til 5am but the cloud just didn't clear
  9. while it should work, you might need to prime a part and once its dry do a tape test first. if it doesn't stick you can try acrylic auto primers as i've used them with tamiya sprays. the auto primer would need a couple extra days to gas out or the paint might get a slightly wrinkled appearance
  10. enthusiasm recedes faster than my hairline when a show gets to season 4
  11. it means the file has been compressed. I think you should be able to set it to save as a jpeg when the save screen pops up. does it do the same if you open the pic on its own site instead of google images and then save the pic?
  12. I'd go red black silver. the silvers usually need less paint to cover so would reduce your edges and the red and black have a decent edge to stop at so raised edges are less of an issue. I'd also try and have the silver cover the area the yellow decal goes on but thats more to be slightly safer if the decals are thin so its not trying to cover a dark colour
  13. shipping costs and customs fees
  14. does a dipstick on a modern bmw count?
  15. I figured a pic of what i'm trying to build would help see what i'm aiming for. this style was between the arched and full wide body zakspeed cars. its biggest attraction for me is the 14x14 inch rear wheels. i've also kept the trunk lid from the resin just in case i decide to open it later but theres not much plastic between the lid and glass
  16. yeah, even the scottish gov forget about doric, yet every roadsign is in english and gaelic whether its spoken locally or not. i think some cornish is also considered a language
  17. theres actually 4 Noel, they speak doric in the north east of scotland, and foula in shetland has its own language related to old danish but its only got around 40 folk so not enough to count. and a couple of islands in orkney have accents strong enough to be considered a language. for example on the island i'm from originally a chetling is a kitten but a chet is a kettle. its almost like vowells are interchangable and ks and cs can be replaced by ch or j. when my mum and aunt are speaking they could be declaring war or have solved world hunger but nobody will ever know cos they cant be understood, and its worse if they have had a drink, lol
  18. i have been thinking about printing out a zakspeed body for this but i found an old resin escort that is just awful. the roof is flat, the bonnet is flat and it has other issues too. so this afternoon i hacked it up and will try to build my own wide body first using the resin fenders. i mean just look how bad this is and believe it or not i have some much worse bodies from the same seller, lol. just look how off the top half of the resin is
  19. either this one that was done live (i actually set a reminder for this one as being live meant it wasn't going to be shown again or another from honda
  20. A lot of you should have been able to seethe aurora last night. it was one of the brightest i've seen for a long time. usually it just looks like flashes of white light to the naked eye and you have to be somewhere dark to see it but last night it could be seen in full colour over the street lights. i saw the entire sky blood red at one point then then it went full disco christmas lights. because of how bright it was you should have been able to see it from north of wyoming and possibly even further south. heres some pics my sister took. all were done with no filter unlike most pics you get to see which are heavily filtered and edited and these aren't, this is what i saw behind the street lighting
  21. theres a few conversion parts for the 4 pot. i've got a cragar set up for the icm i'm building, and a few other parts
  22. i kinda dig sarge's truck from agents of shield
  23. the monogram coupe fenders fit the chassis but not the pick up fenders. i haven't got to trying them on the body yet
