cut or file the flange off. you can get most of it removed using your sprue cutter then its just filing and sanding to get a nice surface. a bit of tape on the edges should save the chrome if you want to save it, i use the thick paper parcel tape for this as its tougher than masking tape and if you dont rub it down too much its also easy to remove

you might get a better result using double sided tape bacause the glue isn't wet. when you add the mica powders to the glues the reason they clump is due to the fine grains of the powder. its like adding baking soda (or any other powdered substance) to superglue to use as filler. also you wont be able to use some paints as some mica powders are made to melt into paints to make your own colours while others are more like adding flake to a 1/1 paintjob. you could also try those glue sticks we used in school, the brand on this side of the pond was called pritstik and again its a fairly dry glue but I've never tried it on plastic or painted surfaces and due to the nature of the gluestik it might not work for tight corners unless you reshape the end of the stick but they can be mashed back together after. they usually cost around 2.50 for 5 in the toy section or with the pens and paper. the tubes are a bit bigger than lip balm tubes

ongoing to my irk with communicating with the jobcentre. it seems english is too hard a language for them to communicate with so i've asked them to communicate with me in welsh. if its bleach it should wash off with a water and bleach solution. once the bleach softens you can then wash it with clean water to remove the residue. an old toothbrush works great for the corners and grilles to get it all out of the cravases. when you use bleach to strip chrome its best to clean it while its still wet or you get it crystalising. if its on a larger flat area you can remove it with greaseproof cooking paper which also works great to remove limescale non porous metals

how long were the parts in the bleach? bleach turns into what you desribed when it dries

you might be better trying some of the plastic outdoor window frame cleaners. you'll need to test as some of them are pretty course and they'll still take the paint off. have you tried auto paint cutting compound also? it could work as its very similar to the window stuff

you have 2 options. the old amt and monogram. I prefer the monogram kit as theres a couple of la salle grilles available from replicas and miniatures of maryland and a few other custom parts. I think the fit of both isn't up to modern standards but both can build up nice. The downside to the monogram is all the body moldings are too flat, especially the rear end around the trunk. If you can find one of the monogram 36s in the flat box it has a load of options. The downside to the amt is the front end can be a chore to line up correctly and can be pretty clearly seen in some builds where the body line goes wonky from the firewall forward

Spent many hours this week arguing with a government department that i cant give them the date of a letter i didn't get from them.
