gauging interest in vw parts
stitchdup replied to stitchdup's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
i do cleaned style engine bays for the mk1, 2 and 3 is on its way once i finish the front panel to suit it. I have gearboxes too and various mirrors, steering wheels and other parts. I also have jetta bodies for all 3 in 2 and 4 doors and I'm working on some aircooled stuff -
Cool, it really suits being shortened

the auto feed on my big printer has stopped working right as I'm about to start a larger print. now i have to keep checking on it so it dont run dry instead of going out doing stuff

i'm noticing that, the front cover is maybe 1/4 inch diameter, 8 pieces and some are like pe parts so difficult to remove from the sprue, lol. at least i can get most of it built before any paint is done and its almost all one colour so i can paint it assembled like the real thing. I'm building the road tractor just now and i've noticed the molding is great, and most of the joins are hidden

So this was printed back in late november. The paint is acrylic from warhammer. The resin is anycubic normal stuff. Its been in a box since late december and i went to use them the other day to find one had popped. It only happened to this one wheel and tyre. There has been some temprature flucuations over the last month so I have to assume that is the cause though the room it was in is pretty much a constant temp.

these have arrived over the past week. I thought i had them all but it turns out there another couple and some farm equipment in 1/24 too so I'll be hunting them down too. pics from internet. My only gripe with these kits are the too many tiny parts that could have been one piece, and the plastic tyres but neither is going to stop me having them built cos i like tractors. The lanz tractor company is owned by john deere now

I knew someone that thought water based meant safe to drink. He wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer. He saw a magic act on one of the saturday talent shows where the magician was run over by a truck wheels (lots of counter weights behind the truck so no real weight on the magician) and decided he would try the same. Luckily he started by running over his foot so only broke his foot. He also burned down his dads workshop by using petrol instead of diesel in some machine. I dont know where he is these days but i can only assume he spends much of his life wrapped in bubble wrap.

Need some help with a couple Ebay searches

I dont know if the corvette kits are like the 79 mpc and monogram firebird kits (mpc and monogram are pretty much the same parts other than scale) if they are half the engine is molded to the chassis on th vette kits so the wouldn't be simple to part out. You would probably find it easier in the aftermarket or maybe from a camaro or firebird of the same era -
yes, the saws are good. the razor saw is a little chunky in size but it works well. It comes with a spare blade too. The teeth is a little too course for fine work and 3d resin but great for most plastics

have you tried the base on it? it might hold the bottom of the doors so they feel tighter. the wear on the right side hinge looks like it could be that way when you zoom in to it

First test of my VW T2 style camping trailer
stitchdup replied to khier's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I dont think it looks that far away. The eriba camper trailers were more rounded than the vans -
try https://orchideuro.com/ usa based company specialising in obsolete and rare water cooled vw stuff or if you dont mind ordering from europe, heritagepartscentre should have it. also, try your local vw parts depot, the golf engines were used in later polos so you never know, its might be a part still used in south america as some of those vws are a decade or more behind the northern hemisphere cars. early mk3 4pot gtis use the same engine too. I can find more places later if you want, i have an extensive collection of performance vw magazine and have been in the scene for years so i'm sure i can find the parts for you

if you dont mind a month wait, you can save money by ordering direct from japan. The shipping isn't too bad either 1999.co.jp/eng/ or hlj.com -
